Im all for new threads but your threads are really poor. You have nothing for us to get our teeth into here, all you have said is 1 prik thinks another prik is ****. And i dont even know what that last word is. Sexy? Peado? White? Alien?
2 threads ive come in to one after the other and your there with this boollox in both. You boring grey tool !
I don't rate Virgil Hunter, either under the normal circumstances. His approach would only suit someone in Andre Ward's circumstances i.e right from the beginning. His specialities are in developing someone from the roots - there's not enough time for something like that in this sport. When I saw Tony Yoka's debut (didn't see Virgil there), I immediately realised Yoka was training with him because of that style - he makes people fight his way and they end up like Broner and Berto attempting Mayweather's execution of defence.
Oh its ok panic over, this meaty post has laid down some great arguments that we can all get our teeth into.
Right. A truly great trainer / teacher -- an Emanuel Steward, an Angelo Dundee or an Eddie Futch -- would make themselves pliable in their approach and seek to bring out the best of their fighter's individual style and traits, and not seek to stifle all their fighters by forcing to conform to one uniform style. Angelo Dundee once said something to the effect of: "If you have a fighter, and you as a trainer can't make the most of his natural abilities and bring out the best of his unique style, but try and programme the guy to one particular style and approach, then you're a stiff."
Mayweather only seems to be right about anything to anyone on this forum when he is hating on other Black fighters, trainers, promoters, etc. He beat every fighter Freddie Roach had, but nobody calls Roach a **** trainer. Roach plays the race card openly and gets a mega pass because, well, you already know how shakey looks. Virgil may not be great for every fighter but who is? He's not **** and you can't make grown men do what you tell them if they don't want to.
