Does the lineal title always count in your opinion? In a completely fictitious world (and time lines here are not correct but to give an example of sorts), but when Douglas beat Tyson, would you say who cares if Douglas had of relinquished the titles and fought against and beaten 10 unknown HWs whilst say Holyfield was fighting Bowe, Holmes, Foreman etc? Is lineal important to you in a situation like that?
The lineal title always counts. It wouldn't matter who Holy fought...Buster is the lineal champion. He can be traced historically.
If that is your opinion, I will say fair enough. Personally I think a lineal title is only as good as who it is defended against and wouldnt read much into it if another fighter was taking on better comp. I am more of the opinion that the fighter makes the title whereas I get the impression titles matter alot more to you
You're definitely delusional if you even this question. Then you go and compare their resumes ?? And even then you dont understand ??? Log off you're a troll
The man who beats the man who beats the man or the guy who unifies the titles by fighting the number 2 guy to become a lineal champion is all that matters.
or those that dont understand how the credibility of a lineal championship is completely destroyed when the person holding it did not win it from the universally recognized best of the division. does fighting the 3rd best fighter in a division for the lineal title, because the man retired, make your lineal title legit?
