If you're sincere and are passionate for the sport more than the characters and the backgrounds of the characters (I was sincere and passionate when I was learning about the sport and like you, I was a borderline annoying, zealous ***** at the start which is hard to envision now but goes to show how far you can come when thinking critically), you'll pick up knowledge as you read people's posts in general and learn new ways of analysing the sport.
