Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko 2 Rematch Confirmed Happening

I have a problem with both fights. But I respect Wlad enough that he deserve a rematch. Wilder does not want to fight Stiverne who he beat handily which is why he sought fights with Joshua and Parker and he was willing and is willing to vacate the WBC title had one of them fought him. That's why he came to the U.K.

Fans don't want to see Joshua fight Wlad, Fury and Parker before Wilder. But I get the sense that Hearn will attempt to do this to milk Joshua. Wilder wants to fight one of the 3 (Fury Wlad or Parker) and then make one of the biggest unification hvw fights in a while if everything pans out. It can even be for the lineal hvw title.

 

When did Wilder say he was willing to vacate his title?

Aye then try coming back strong. It seemed a small ring to me? Was it? Or was it just a trick of the eye with it being two giants in there. Don't appear to be much room to get out of the way.

 

I loved every bit of the first fight and even tho the guy I picked lost, I've got nothing bad to say about it. Maybe apart from "WTF Wlad" at rd6 , but I do not think a rematch is necessary. He's going to get KO'd sooner this time.

I'm thinking Wladimir has a great chance of upsetting the favourite here, actually I am more confident this time than I was for the first fight. Make no mistake, I realise Joshua is a solid favourite for valid reasons and the main recurring argument for why he wins easier this time (the experience of the first fight) is undeniably the case. However, Klitschko surprised all of us with his level of aggression and sturdy chin, add to this his sublime footwork, elite power and his obsessive hunger to further his legacy and stake his claim amongst the greatest of all time and you have a motivated champion with a great chance.

Klitschko has already cemented his place in history, money is not his priority and there are weaker champions he could have pursued which would provide glory with far less risk. Wladimir chose Joshua because he is the everest of the heavyweight division, after coming up short in a gruelling fight he one again chose Joshua, he believes he can conquer AJ and once again claim the throne and his place atop the pile as the apex predator of boxing.

Once more, I do see Joshua as having the edge. I just don't see this as a foregone conclusion or even as Wlad having a mere 'punchers chance', I expect a close fight where either man can stop the other and if the odds drift further I will be all over Klitschko's side. I can understand why many of you are writing the Ukranian off but I still find it surprising after the effort we saw from Wlad at Wembley. I hope Anthony Joshua and the betting public share this confidence because Wladimir Klitschko has the physicality, the strategic intelligence and the unshakeable will to shock the world.

You have to greatly admire and respect a fighter, especially at 41, to take on once again the very top heavyweight out there who you've just lost to


Wlad is not the kind of fighter to wind down his career on an obvious easier opponent; that would be very transparent- as it is when so many others do it - but he's not that kind a fighter

You'll notice after the fury loss he went after fury again, not an easier shoe-in win first, he wanted fury right away

When fury showed what he really is Wlad then when after Joshua

he wants to face the very top and close the show -on top- and I commend his gladiator mentality and heart, not to mention his incredible ability at 41 years old

Dope! Big test for Joshua! We'll see if he can bring the same intensity back to back. It's always possible Wlad could get the KO if he fights as if he has nothing to lose.

Re. the naysayers...this fight is the biggest challenge out there for Joshua. Fury isn't an option and the other champions do not pose a threat comparable to Wlad.

Ortiz deserves a shot though. If Hearn is still promoting him, Ortiz ought to get a big fight on the undercard.

 

If somehow WBA could make Oquendo/Ustinov happen soon - maybe the winner could fight Ortiz for the WBA regular on the under card.

 

Fury needs to get back into training and have a tuneup.

This is a 50/50 fight, the best two heavyweights the world today, at least until Fury gets back into fighting shape.............
