Holyfield showed no fear whatsoever when he finally faced tyson in 96, he took the best of Mike's punches and broke him down.

Does a prime foreman do the same.? I don't see it as a frazier type blast out but more of a later rounds stoppage for George. Tyson could take a hell of a beating before been stopped and that's how I see this going. Foreman would hurt tyson early and that puts the first seeds of doubt in Mike s mind. I was once of the opinion that this would go in tyson s favour if they ever met but I m more inclined to believe now that foreman would stop tyson round about the tenth. Foreman s power been the ultimate winner against tyson s.

If prime Foreman fought the version of Tyson Holyfield fought. See J.Frazier or K.Norton for the answer. Prime vs prime? When Tyson had great head movement, fired great combinations and had great foot speed? A great fight. But Foreman still wins..... It would come down to mental make up. Could even a prime Tyson deal with a bigger and meaner bully than himself? No not in my opinion based on his behavior in most of his losses. Who he was inside his own head would be his biggest enemy against men like a Foreman or a List on men who were just as intimidating, maybe more so.

I'm in the minority, but I think Tyson beats young Foreman, and goes 50/50 with young Foreman. Tyson wasn't Frazier, he was taller, heavier, faster and more powerful, and had two hands and two good eyes.

    Prime Tyson never fought Holyfield.
If Foreman fought that version of Mike, it goes less than 3

Why is it with this match up you get so many that think Foreman wins in two rounds. Evidence has shown that Tyson cant take a hell of a whack but you bring Foreman into the equation and suddenly he has a glass chin and has lost all of his other attributes such as his own power, speed and movement. I guess Mike will just stand there and get pounded :loel:

This is what I stated in my op, that tyson would lose but it would take a good few rounds. Tyson would be gradually battered and broke down imo.

Foreman hits like a freight train and his meat were the crouching swarmers like Tyson. No hwt can take prime Foreman's best blows (uppercut, right hook) full force. Also you cannot compare a boxer puncher relatively light blows from Holyfield and the atom bombs thrown by prime Foreman. Holys style and punches are meant to wear an opponent down over rounds. Foremans style and power were designed to quickly destroy. THIS is why the bout does not go long.

I can agree with that more than the two round theory that's for sure. I don't think this fight is anywhere near as easy as some think. A quick bobbing and weaving Tyson wouldn't be easy to hit with those wide shots and Foreman wasn't beyond getting stunned himself, but if Tyson didn't get him around the mid rounds which would be a big ask, I agree Foreman could break him down late, which I probably lean towards. Foreman showed his toughness and that he could recover and win a fight if badly hurt, which he probably would be against Tyson. If we are talking about 1996 Tyson, yeah Mike is doomed, no chance. He would need to be at his best to survive this one.

can't agree with that at all. there is plenty of evidence that Tyson has taken huge shots, arguably form punchers that hit as hard as Foreman. Lennox Lewis bent Tyson's neck in half at one point and still couldn't put him away, it took 8 rounds for Lewis to eventually get the job done. that was a version of Tyson high on weed during his training camp and over a decade from his prime years so I fail to see how Foreman gets him out that early. If he George wins, its late for me.

Prime being the key word here which for Tyson was short. But from 1986-1987 Tyson's speed and better skills would be the difference here. Tyson is not Frazier and hits much harder than Lyle who rocked Foreman's world, and Ali who put him down for the count,

By contrast, it took Lewis. Holyfield, and Douglas many rounds to stop Tyson.

If Foreman had better stamina, I'd like his chances late, but he tended to lose poise and stamina as the rounds went on.

So I'll go with Tyson here, but anything can happen. No certainly of who wins here.
