Nobody has been more active looking to fight GGG than Lara almost 2 years calling him out willing to move up no catch weigh. I'm trying to answer your question but you should ask directly to GGG. I'm glad you mentioned Lara beat Canelo we all know.

And none of their assumptions matter or hold any weight in how he will perform against Canelo. The only thing that matters is that they are getting in the ring and itll be settled then. Thats all i care about. The only time the talking back and forth is entertaining is when its a hypothetical or possible future matchup that likely never happens. This is happening and we will get our answers.

In my opinion is was razor close with the KD edging it towards GGG, without the KD I'd of had it scored a draw. Now many are using GGG's poor showing against Jacobs as an indication of how well he'll perform against Canelo Alvarez, which I find rather ridiculous, because Jacobs fights and fought that particular match nothing like Canelo does, people and their damn triangle theories again.

Oh well Golovkin met his almost kryptonite against The Miracle Man, he was extra cautious, you know because Jacobs has a ridiculously high KO ratio, pre-GGG it was in the 90's, like GGG. He also happened to have worked on his defense a whole lot for this match, and Danny was already quite gifted defensively beforehand, and he was switching between orthodox and southpaw throughout the fight throwing off any rhythm Golovkin was trying to establish. Not to mention the fact that Jacobs was taller than most of GGG's opponents and looked to be in the realm of Cruiserweight the night of the fight. Regardless, I'm not making any excuses for GGG, because in my opinion there's no reason to make excuses, I thought Golovkin looked good and I think Jacobs looked good, most don't seem to want to assess the match properly....

Here's the reality... Golovkin had never been in the ring with a true Middleweight that was as talented a fighter as he was in Daniel Jacobs, and vice versa for Danny. So they both brought their A-Games and both performed at their highest level, the match was a tactical masterpiece from both men, almost rivaling the skill level on display in Kovalev vs. Ward, both performed beautifully and admirably putting on a minor masterpiece of the sweet science, with neither man truly establishing themselves over the other. many rounds were 51/49 type affairs, it was a nightmare to score many of the rounds. Both men were at the very top of their game.

Fine... much has been made about Jacobs flimsy whiskers, because he was KO'd by Pirog in 5, who was a little bit of a featherfist compared to Golovkin, who couldn't KO him, and now that has people questioning Golovkin's power, which I find kind of ridiculous as well. Do any of you really think that Sven Ottke punches harder than Danny Green, or that Derek Edwards punches harder than DeGale and Groves, or that Medgeon Singsurat hits harder than Barrera and Morales? If a punch lands perfectly even from an average puncher, it can put people to sleep. Its happened a million times before. The fact is Jacobs was rolling with and taking the steam off of a fair share of Golovkin's punches many of which Golovkin wasn't fully committing to out of fear of being countered by a fellow KO artist, and on top of that when you pack on the pounds after a weigh in, often times that helps your body absorb punches better. Basically Golovkin was in the ring with David Lemieux if David Lemieux had Austin Trout's ring IQ and countering ability and was the size of Sergey Kovalev.

Which brings me to Canelo, people go on and on about how far he's come and how much he's improved since his subpar performances against Lara, Mayweather and Trout... but here's my question, has he really? We haven't seen him pushed much lately against an actual boxer have we? Okay, whoopee he looked awesome against Liam Beefy Smith (British level), Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.(drained), James Kirkland (came down from 200lbs in a few months drained) and Alfredo Angulo (near death drained). He couldn't KO Chavez Jr. he couldn't actually KO Angulo, it took him 9 rounds of brutally teeing off on Beefy to finally stop him, and 3 rounds to stop Kirkland, who has no chin whatsoever, the man was KO'd by Ishida for God sakes and was drained and had been inactive for a year and a half. Canelo did what he was supposed to do, he looked great or just good against guys who don't possess anything close to his skill level that were brought in as show pieces to make him shine.

However, here's the two matches fans should really be looking at, his match against Khan and Cotto. There's no ifs ands or buts about it, Khan was schooling Canelo for 4 rounds, and the 5th was competitive, think about it, if Khan had a good chin and that match was in the UK, the Brits would have had Khan up 5-0, which is arguably the right score, that means Canelo would have to definitively win the last 7 to win the match, and maybe even that wouldn't have been enough, because certainly an iron chinned version of Khan would have snagged one or two maybe even three more rounds before the final bell, but lucky for Canelo, Khan did what he was brought in to do, he got KTFO. Think about it, master boxer Canelo Alvarez had less success against Khan in rounds 1-5 than Chris mother****ing Algieri did. That's just embarrassing.

Then what about the match beforehand where he took on the lineal Mid.... err Catchweight Champion Miguel Cotto, who was coming off of two impressive victories against a drained corpse of a tenderized GGG leftover and a cripple who'd just got off of crutches 5 months before he fought him. Make no mistake, Cotto's power didn't all of a sudden get devastating at MW, he used a cripple for target practice and pounded on Sergio for 9 rounds before the corner finally pulled him out, Sergio could have made it 3 more rounds, most of the KD's had more to do with his shot knees than it did Cotto's power. Okay, back to Canelo, he still managed to have a close match, in some people's opinions an uncomfortably close match with the sloppy seconds of Trout and Mayweather. He was afraid to walk down and demolish this shell of Cotto, something than fellow Mexican Antonio Margarito did with relative ease, and yeah I know, he may have had loaded gloves, but did he have a loaded chin??? Margarito walked through Cotto's punches like his fists were made of cotton candy, Cotto has never shown elite power against non-gimpy elite opponents, yet Canelo was afraid to do a Margarito style beatdown on him, and ended up being outclassed in 4 or 5 rounds of the fight.

That is the real level Canelo is operating on, beating a shot old Cotto 8-4 or at worst 7-5, and losing 4 rounds to Khan before sending him to bed.

Fine Golovkin looked average against a skilled defensively minded switch hitting counter puncher with a 90% KO ratio.

Guess what happened the last time Canelo faced two skilled defensively minded counter punching southpaws, oh that's right he got gifts against both of them. And the embarrassing thing is Trout and Lara's combined KO ratio is 102%, that's only roughly 10 more than GGG and Jacobs individually. So it wasn't because Canelo was afraid of being KO'd, his ass just got outclassed. Now ask yourselves this question, how many defensively minded southpaw counter punchers have you seen Canelo take on since his match against Lara..... that's right, none. So he beat a couple of come forward plodders, and looked thoroughly average against Cotto and Khan, why wasn't he taking on Andrade or Charlo or rematch Lara and Trout? Its because Oscar De La Hoya wanted to create the false perception that Canelo had vastly improved, when in reality he was only feeding him opponents brought in to make him look exemplary, and ultimately he only ended up looking decent against most of them.

Golovkin just fought two highly ranked top tier slick awkward counter punchers back to back, he fought like a defenseless kamikaze and looked average against and lost exactly 1 round before breaking Brook's face and probably ruining him as a fighter at the top level forever. The other one he beat in a close competitive masterpiece between two master boxers who also happened to be savage KO artists where one mistake from either could have proven disastrous.

Golovkin fought his version of Lara and Trout, only a taller, bigger far more heavy handed version, maybe slightly more skilled, because after all aside from the KO loss to the brilliant Pirog, Jacobs has clearly beaten every other opponent. Which is more than I can say for Trout and Lara. Trout lost decisively to Lara, and close to Charlo, and was almost KO'd by Daniel Dawson. Lara has had more close matches than friggin Danny Garcia, and debatably just as many gifts.

Canelo on the other hand just beat two plodding punching bags with the skill level of Ruslan Provodnikov, and that's flattering to them, and he couldn't even KO one of them, who was drained to his lowest weight in 5 years.

Ask yourselves this question, how well would GGG perform against Trout and Lara?

How well does Canelo perform against a JMW Brook and Jacobs? Does he even beat them?

What the hell.... How well does Canelo perform in Canelo-Trout 2 and Canelo-Lara 2? Because the last time he fought a guy on his backfoot in Khan, he lost most of the match.

Where did I state GGG would beat Canelo based off of any of their performances? I didn't.

I said Canelo in all likelihood would struggle the next time he faces an actual boxer (he usually does) as opposed to a come forward plodder, and unfortunately for him GGG is an actual boxer, with power and size. And I said Golovkin wasn't anywhere near shot as a lot of people on here seem to think he is (or in actuality HOPE he is) and put his recent performances into their proper perspective, and did the same with Canelo's.

Okay then why hasn't Lara made the move north? There's always the Quillin's, Jacobs', Douglas', Khytrov's, Aleem's, Murata's, Saunders', Derevyanchenko's he can viciously feast on as he's waiting for GGG to man up and take him on.

Agree with this. For somebody that people describe as a crude slugger (lol) Golovkin's connect rates are off the charts. He's very, very accurate and this is what makes him so effective. He doesn't have to go full tilt in order to secure the KO. Fact is, with such good accuracy, his power translates into a punishing beatdown over the distance for his opponents. The KO comes on its own.

If he really wanted a Golovkin fight he could either move to 160 and become mando or contact Loeffler directly and demand it. That's what Stevens did. Wasn't hard.
