I really think his punching power is overrated, i mean he can punch for sure but nearly all of his opponents have
been knocked out before or after the fight with him by lesser puncher's.

Bermane Stiverne was knocked out by Demetrice King and Wilder couldn't knock him out.

Chris Arreola was stopped by Stiverne and Vitali Klitschko.

Artur Szpilka was stopped by featherfisted Bryant Jennings.

Eric Molina was knocked out by a no name Ashanti Jordan and Arreola, both times in the first round, Wilder needed
9 rounds to knock him out.

Malik Scott was stopped by Dereck Chisora.

Liakhovich was stopped by Maurice Harris, Shannon Briggs, Robert Helenius and Bryant Jennings before.

Duhaupas was brutally knocked out by Povetkin and Wilder had problems to knock him out.

I don't think he hits harder than Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko and i don't think that he hits much harder than Alexander Povetkin and Luis Ortiz, if at all.

    That's a fair post.

Truth is we don't know how hard he hits yet because he hasn't fought enough top level guys.

I have no doubt he hits very hard, we just don't really know how hard yet.

    No, not overrated.

    Wilder scored few 'cold' knockouts.

He KO'd Lyakhovich cold in round 1 with 1st punch, and Lyakhovich never lasted less than 9 rounds against any other opponent.

He KO'd Szpilka unconscious for a few minutes, and Szpilka was taken on the stretcher. Scariest KO of 2016 at HW for sure.

Wilder KO'd Kelvin Price with 1 punch, which very hard-hitting Amir Mansour failed to do.

But I don't think he hits harder than AJ or Wlad or Ortiz.

All of them have power at least 9 on 10 scale.

I can't say who is the hardest hitter at current HW division, but surely AJ, Wlad, Ortiz, Wilder, Povetkin and probably old guys like Mansour and Briggs are at the top. Haye was a very hard hitter in his prime, too, but seems like he lost some of his power against Bellew (before an injury).

That's the point, i don't doubt that he hits very hard, but a lot of people are saying he is by far the hardest puncher
in the heavyweight division and i don't think so, therefore his power is clearly overrated in my opinion.

We know that Molina lasted far longer longer against Wilder, but he was avare of Wilder's punches most of time and never saw that scary right hand vs AJ.

I think Wilder's power is based on his handspeed. If he hits you with perfect timing and you wont see his punch, its guaranteed KO (like vs Szpilka) or hard knockdown. But if you see his punch and you're prepared for it, you can take it (like Duhaupas or Stiverne).

AJ power is based on speed, right punching technique and his 250 lbs frame.

I think you'll have far harder time avoiding AJ punches than Wilder's.

I agree, Wilder is telegraphing his punches most of the time whereas Anthony Joshua throws his punches with
    perfect technique.

It's clearly obvious he is the hardest puncher this planet has seen to date.

Basically this, Wilder gets leverage on his shots from speed and whipping
the right hand. Then only time I"ve seen him KO someone with a short
shot was Szpilka and it was just timed beautifully. He has some legit power
but no, it's doubtful that he's the hardest hitter at HW.

Seems these days every mention about Wilder has to be about that "right hand eraser" like it's some amazing weapon from God & nothing can be done about it. overrated imo.

I really want to see Deontay Wilder in the ring with someone who has a good chin like Chisora, Whyte, Breazeale
or Wach then he can show how much power he really has.

It's really hard to tell because his best opponent thus far has been Stiverne and like you said, he didn't KO him. You could be right. On the other hand, he looks to me like he punches well. He has one of those long, lanky frames that seem to lend themselves to generating power. He does have a **** ton of KOs, albeit against generally inferior opposition. Considering all of the above, I'd say he's got serious power, but is it legend-level? The jury is out.

    Wilder's power is not overrated.

    It's like his only attribute.

Boxing skills = minimal, footwork = nonexistent, chin = iffy. There's no way that somebody could get outboxed every match without having something special in the bag to win it for him, and in Wilder's case he has big big power.

I didn't mean overrated in the way that he has no power, i meant his power is overrated in the way that people
see him as the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division even though he only fought C-level opponents who
    can't take a punch.
