The hardest HW puncher ... no.

Wlad and AJ are on the same level imho.

To be fair Wilder's windmills are freaking hard, but the technique is so, so awful. I used to fight like that as a kid ... say no more  I'm surprised that even the second liners he fights haven't put him away yet.

My own feeling with Wilder is that his reputation for power is inflated by his willingness to windmill. I reckon many boxers with no reputation for power would score KOs if they were to punch in such wide and wild manner. But decent boxers don't for fear of going off-balance or being wide open to the counter.

Wilder has got away with such atrocious technique because, with one exception, he has fought only journeymen and gatekeepers. If he ups the calibre he will either have to start punching straighter (and his apparent power will shrink dramatically), or he will get KOd.

Given that he winds up so much it's a kind of power that no decent boxer worth his salt ought to be hit by,if he did try this against someone decent he'd be on the floor before he knew what hit him.
In short he has power but it's an unconventional type of power and I'm struggling to think of a knockout from a conventional punch?

If you line up 38 of your brothers, cousins, nephews and friends and knock 37 out, you can punch.

Not if those "brothers, cousins, and nephews" are runts, infants, or disabled.

Context is everything with boxing records. For example, to my mind, Loma's 1-1 was better than any number of 20-0s with impressive KO ratios.

Wilder hits very hard with a chilling type of punch AJ has more clubbing power .Wilder has poor technique but is improving under breland .flawed but dangerous.

You just have to look at the rnds of which he is knocking guys out and still hitting them flush. He has gone past 7 almost every time hes stepped up competition( exception of Washington)..based on just one fight and that ppl seem to think guys go down automatically when he lands? yes hes overated. He usually has to land and land on guys to finally get them to stop or get knocked out,ppl get knocked out easier the longer they go,which is why he has more knock outs than anyone.

Klitchko and Joshua are proven true top knockout guys with better opposition to gage on as well.
you can argue anyone after those two... would assume wilder hits like Haye, his advantage though is coming down on someone being 6'7 ,that produces more velocity and the way he punches looks to have more impact ,i'll take Joshua and Klitchko in this department.

What power he does manage to generate must be due to leverage and technique, not muscular strength, --------much like Thomas Hearns

I don't think he hits harder than either Wlad or Joshua either. What I will say is his opponents seem in much more trouble when they go down from a Joshua hot though. Maybe this could be his wild style of throwing punches? They catch his opponents off guard more than the more traditional styles of other fighters.
