The shavers punch that knocked down holmes :who recovers from it?

I've watched the holmes v shavers ft numerous times and each time he gets hit.. I think 'your not getting up from that one pal! :lol. But seriously it was such a perfect punch, I think most lineal champ s would have been out cold!

 

I can see where your coming from. Frazier went down several times against one of the hardest hitting heavy s in history, and frazier s style meant he was practically walking in to those shots. So that particular shavers punch may have scrambled Joe's head but he would have at least attempted to get up.

 

It was. Holmes even collapsed like he was shot. There was no stagger. No "will he or won't he" fall? Shavers put everything behind it and landed flush, and Holmes immediately went limp.

He was out on the way down. He said hitting the floor woke him up.

 

Yeah, that's medically possible.

 

just a thought whilst going through this thread. Frazier gets a lot of kudos, and rightly so, for getting back up repeatedly against Foreman. Why isnt the same plaudits afforded to floyd patterson for doing the exact same against johannson?

 

Watch the vid on youtube where Shavers rocks Ali, the punch is harder than anything Foreman hit Frazier with but Ali took it!

Its probably a case of who is actually causing the kds. Frazier was dropped by foreman, who of course a ATG heavy hitter, while ingo is never seen as that. But I agree with you, at the end of the day Floyd was still climbing up and trying to get back in the fight.

 

Because Johannsen wasn't the threat Big George was.
