Love him or not...Adonis Stevenson has the best one punch power of Boxing.

You should ask Jean Pascal who punches harder. Who all, but said "the power" when describing Kovalev. Sergey just has unbelievable power.

He really only caught Ward flush once all night and he went down. And he caught him with the palm of his hand instead of the knuckles. The man has scary power. Scary.

I think most people are missing the point the topic starter
was attempting to make, there really isn't a dispute that
Adonis is one of the top 5 punchers in boxing, that left
is a monster, he can club with it or shoot it down the pipe.
And it hurts when it lands. His right hand isn't all that good but
his quick footed and very mobile and can get into position to hit
you with the left. Adonis is a real problem and only biased people
can't see that. The hourglass is running out for him though,
his age will catch up eventually with his style

 

He couldn't drop or KO the admittedly durable Sakio Bika, a guy he dragged up from 168 to make a title defence against.

Moreover, didn't Stevenson also duck Pascal a few years back? Unless I'm mistaken, that's where the "Aducknis Chickenson" nickname came from (coined by Jean Pascal).

Stevenson will probably find his heaviness and fight Pascal at some point, now that Kovalev pretty much ruined him in their two fights.

 

Pascal wanted to fight Adonis but he was offered a mandatories spilt, 25%. Even though Pascal is the bigger name in Montreal. At the same time Pascal was negotiating for Kovalev I, where the deal was 50-50 2MIL each for Kovalev's 3 belts. One could say it was a duck, because eveveryon in QC knows Jean is very pridefull and he would never accept such terms.

advantage with him and other LHWs, if
anything it's a disadvantage for him.

Not the best in all of boxing p4p, but it's certainly up there. Beterbiev has better power in the 175lb division. Adonis has explosive power.

I would say Kovalev's straight R and Golovkins OH L hook are probably even more effective.

Let's see Stevenson hit someone with an iron chin, say, Chilemba, Vlasov, or Zurdo.

IMO, Both Vlasov and Zurdo BEAT Stevenson, and Adonis would beat Chilemba simply because Isaac doesnt have the firepower to deter Stevenson from getting inside.
