It's pretty evident Wilder and GGG have different career goals. Compare for example Spence vs. Wilder. Both Haymon fighters. Vastly different career goals. Haymon seems to be able to accomodate both.

Loeffler seems to have done pretty well for GGG, but K2 doesn't have all the advantages of the bigger more connected promoters, who would likely have done better for GGG.

“We’ve always said that Gennady could move up to 168 if it made sense. We tried to make the Chavez fight [at 168]. We tried to make the Froch fight [at 168]. Now [Gilberto] Ramirez is talking about fighting Triple G. He’s an undefeated 168 pound champion. Andre Ward, he’s got the Kovalev rematch. If he can win that one and come back down to 168 - I think that's a great fight,” said Loeffler

Andre Ward (31-0, 15 KOs) has ruled out entirely him moving back down to 168 to fight unbeaten Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) after he moves up to super middleweight.

Looks like Ward has already "pre-ducked" any possible GGG fight.

Wilder on the other hand, has ducked the entire HW division bar the cans.

He started by destroying #4 rated Proska on HBO 5 years ago.
Than he cleaned out a huge crop of the top 10 with:
    #6 Macklin
    #3 Geale
    #7 Murray
    #10 Stevens
    and
#8 Rubio for interim WBC title
Then #4 IBF Champion David Lemieux on PPV
Then P4P rated Kell Brook in a PPV and official WBC title defense
    Then #2 rated Danny Jacobs
And now an official PPV bout against RING Champion Canelo
Also factor in all the mandatory defenses. I wouldn't take these RING ratings that literally, but the point is all these guys were players/contenders.

Compare this to Wilder. Who has only fought one top 10 rated peer, unified no titles, and made no mandatory defenses of his title.

I don't see anybody with a title stepping up to Wilder.

Wilder has been carefully protected for years now................everyone knows he is a damned fraud...............Winos from the alleys do not make a good fighter.................Golovkin has unified all titles except the WBO and that will be next right after the El Pollo fight....................to be honest, I did not know that chicken fighting was legal in America..............

yep--Haymon is in the manager category rather than promoter

i think he's often referred to as an advisor because he works with fighters who already have a full-time manager

and while there are folks on this Site who can provide far more insight than me on the matter (eg, they are either an active boxing manager or promoter) the fundamental difference between the two is the relationship with the fighter:

manager: has a fiduciary duty to the fighter (therefore must act with his best interest in mind at all times) analogous to a corporate officer (CEO, COO) relationship to a legal corporation

promoter: no such fiduciary and in fact it's perfectly legal for a promoter to act in his/her own best interest. This is acceptable because the of the promoter's usual role as the event's underwriter--ie, they typically accept a large share of the up-front financial risk for a fight--ie, it's his/her money (mostly) at stake so it's ok for them to focus on their own best interest. Obviously fighters and promoters work together when their financial interests are substantially aligned--but again, that's not the same thing as their interests being the same and putting the fighter first, which is the legal standard for every decision the manager makes on their fighter's behalf

Well you can't put lipstick on a pig. Wilder is a fragile product that needs careful wrapping otherwise it shatters easily. GGG is a cruise missile that hunts down any target on autopilot and destroys it.

I think given Wilder's flaws Hayman did what he could: Milk that WBC belt skillfully while avoiding any risk whatsoever. Anyone higher than Boxrec #25 would be too big of a risk of cracking Wilder's skull apart.

Golovkin couldn't sell out MSG against the highest rated MW in the world. Why you keep posting lies all over the forum?
