Wrong on both accounts. Just like your thinking that you could suppress your desire for men. You just love failing, but at least it's the one thing that you're good at.

Kind of agree. Kovalev isn't very likeable. I don't care for him out of the ring. But he is much better to watch than Ward.

Ward is less likeable though, in and out of the ring, although only on the surface out of it. Kov may be a bigger piece of **** deep down, who knows. But inside the ring, Ward is far less likeable. He's an outright cheater and boring as ****.

All of this yet you're a kovalev fan. The hypocrisy is too much.

Honestly I find it terribly childish and trivial when I hear posters complain about his nick name. I doubt those annoyed with it even know why he selected the name, are we not all sons of God? I'm willing to believe he calls himself that because he simply feels he's one of the many blessing the creator has placed on this earth nothing more nothing less. Perspective is everything and I find it absolutely bizarre that some folks think he's some narcissistic unbeatable machine when he's constantly preaching about his hard work dedication and the constant need to continue working hard to remain champ and beat great fighters like Kovalev. I don't get it.

    Very fair post bro...respect

In the ring I do enjoy watching Kovalev operate and I respect Wards ability to grind though outside the ring Kovalev has the personality of pine tree yet I stay away from placing judgement just based on that maybe he's a ball of laughs amongst his friends and family maybe it's a cultural difference so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

That's BS. I'm not a religious person, but even I know not to use God's name in vain. And the way Ward uses it is all in vanity.

I disagree, I've seen no evidence that's suggests Wards use of the name is to promote the idea that's he alone is a direct descendant of a spiritual being. There is however an aura of confidence that he always carries maybe it rubs you the wrong way. I've seen his interviews and while he can be passionately opinionated I don't see the offensive vanity.

Maybe you don't know what the commandment means?

You are arguing with Kov dick riders. It's useless. It's a waste of time. I mean they don't have one thing positive to say about Ward. Ward of all people lol...

If that's what you feel than so be it, I'm not trying to sway you just voicing my opinion, I don't think there's much ambiguity attached to the commandment so I'll keep my original interpretation and you can maintain yours. Obviously he's not above sin I just can't support the theory that he feels he's above his peers based on a special selection made by God himself.

making a racist remark is very serious; so is accusing someone of racism

in this case, i believe it's unjustified

yes Kovalev did call Ismayl Sillakh a ****** prior to a fight between the two in 2012 or 2013.

i'm 95% certain that is what Pascal was referring to to support his claim that Kovalev is racist.

If this remark were so hurtful to Jean Pascal he would not have exploited it as much as he did--and he sure did exploit it, for instance, walking into a pre-fight and with a bag od bananas in an attempt to use racism to promote the fight and spin a narrative in which JP is a good guy (i'm a big fan of Pascal, but not that day); Pascal even handed a banana to Kovalev's trainer (John David Jackson, who is black)

as a native Russian speaker and as someone who was born and grew up in a Slavic country, it is plain wrong to load extra meaning--derived from contemporary American social milieu--into English words used by a native Russian speaker.

four years ago when he made that comment, by far the most probable explanation is that Kovalev had no knowledge of the racially sensitive, loaded nature of that term

during my service in naval infantry, the sergeant in charge of our unit of 16 or so conscripts was irritated at three of us because we were taking too long to place a few dozen tractor tires filled with concrete, one at a time, around a soccer pitch-sized area to delimit a parade boundary. One insult he yelled at us that i recall was roughly that we looked like three monkeys trying to copulate with a donut.

i've also heard Americans use phrases like "monkeys at a typewriter" to characterize someone's effort as correct but obtained by pure luck.

that's how a native Russian speaker and someone from Russia would use the term "******" to disparage (whether genuinely or as pre-fight trash talk) another.

it's highly unlikely that such a person would have any knowlege of the particularly loaded nature of the term when used to describe someone who is also black

we can never know for sure, but this is the more likely explanation of Kovalev's intent; what's more, before accusing anyone of racism--a very serious and nearly indefensible charge that carries devastating consequences--why not give the person the benefit of the doubt?

especially if there's a plausible alternative explanation and especially, if there exists plenty of evidence to the contrary (Kovalev good friend and trainer is black, among other evidence)

Ok, but to the point it doesn't matter wtf he thinks. Any god fearing man should know better than to use the Lord's name in vain. Making it part of your moniker for a boxing career, looks like nothing but pure vanity.

thank you, now imagine those who actually are god fearing men... its not something we can just smile about and chalk up to ignorance. ward has made it a point to show hes beyond the just born again stage, he knows whats expected after a lifelong relationship with the word. i would have no personal problem with ward if he kept my fathers name out of his shady public business.
