Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

Exactly. Absolute mental anyone thinking its gonna be competitive. Boxer v non boxer in reality. Two different combats. Money and that is all

 

The one thing that irritates me more than anything is McGregor saying " I am boxing"... Makes me grit my teeth I find it that annoying, the mouthy twat. That a side I hope by some freak occurrence he ko's Mayweather lol

 

With respect, Shadow, I've seen quite a few top level MMA strikers try their luck at boxing, and the outcome is rarely good. Boxing is a very specialized subset of fighting, and the way MMA fighters throw hands is very different to boxers. The most fundamental beginnings are a stance, and the MMA stance would get laughed out of a boxing gym and for good reason. It's that way to counter specific threats.

There's no ****ing way a boxing noob comes into a boxing ring and tools an ATG like Floyd on his first fight. Don't get me wrong, I'd be cheering for Conor, and i respect that you always put up a good argument when you post, but you're flat-out wrong here. Floyd would have to train on burgers and crack off a hoes ass for Conor to have the slightest chance.

We all have our opinions but theres too much of a gulf in talent to say anything other than Mayweather quite easily. I don't like name calling when people are passionate about things, but you have to be pretty stupid to think this is a fair fight. Or maybe young. I could walk 1/2 mile up to the boxing gym by me and find fighters that would spark connor with the hands.

 

Training for what, the acting for the stage show?
They will just dance around for 12 rounds and then take the money and run all they way to the bank.

 

Dude. Conor was sparring with some guy who was ranked like 60 on boxrec and getting schooled. Conor McGregor would be a josesito lopez at best if he went all in on boxing.

Face the fact that money talks, if you are a good enough athlete you will box because it pays 20x more to the fighter per PPV buy. Look at what conor makes vs any other top boxer. These MMA guys aren't nearly as good as boxers are.

 

slightly off topic. What do people think the chat was about between connor McGregor and Kovalev. It was a weird one to me. Looked like kov wanted to say something to him but got a bit of a brush off from him. Slightly patronising shoulder rub to kov as if to calm him down. Anyone got a clue ?????

 

The MMA guys are going to be bringing in 80% of the PPV revenue anyway.....

Floyd is the guy wearing a riot suit while bringing an AK-47 to a knife fight. That's how much of a joke the fight is.

If McGregor makes it past the 6th round, Floyd loses his place on the ATG list. For the record, I have Floyd at #87.
