Of course there are a lot of shootings but there are a ton more fights. You just don't hear about them on the news. I grew up in that environment. The ratio of fights to shootings is practically 100:1. The hood is just crazy. I don't know what hood you're from but they must have been cowards because in my city we scrapped all the time. Shootings usually had something to do with drugs (I wasn't involved just heard). Very rarely was it over losing a fight. If a guy lost a fight it didn't really matter, I've known guys who lost fights just as much as they won.

Chicago is probably the only place I have heard of where a lot of kids shoot rather than fight but even then they still fight a lot. But that's another issue, Chicago's always been trigger happy since the 19th century.

 

Wasn't Marco Antonio Barrera from a well to do family? Yet, he fights like he ate scraps as a kid, always giving it his all, win or lose.

 

Read a book about Eastern Europe in the 70s and 80s specifically the ex Soviet States, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Lithuania ect..... then again in the 90s after the fall of communism and the rise of the Russian Mafia and its stranglehold on that part of the world......and you might find that they do know about hardship, killings in the street, drugs, guns, prostitution ect....... That is not an issue unique to Mexico.

Are you trying to take a moral victory for not getting KO'ed because you went down? No, this guy is trying to literally justify his victory on the scorecards by saying he went down and got up. In addition, calling Kovalev a sore loser when 80 percent of the people who saw the fight thought you were busted up and took that L.
