In an interview, Kathy Duva was talking about the Ward Kovalev negotiations and she said that they had to make some small concessions to make the rematch but stated that one of the things that they bargained for and got was a 20 foot ring.

So are we to interpret that statement as suggesting that Ward wanted the ring to be bigger than 20 feet? Taking a look back at the first fight, it does appear to be slightly bigger than usual. Perhaps it was larger than 20 feet, but I don't think this was ever mentioned was it? Can anyone confirm what the size of the ring was? Sometimes it's hard to tell exactly how big the ring is, but perhaps the ring for the first fight was 22 feet or something, and Kovalev wanted it smaller this time?

It certainly wasn't smaller than 20 feet for the first fight, so it must have been bigger than 20 feet. That's interesting that Kovalev's side demanded it be 20 feet this time around.

Ward wanted a 60 footer but he's a nice humble man and settled for 20.

How big do you reckon the first fight's ring was? 22 feet? I think they should list how big ring sizes are because many times it's difficult to tell.

He wanted the ring to be the standard 1/4 mile track and to have the bell replaced with a starting gun for each round.

Well apparently Ward agreed to it being smaller this time around at the request of the Kovalev camp so that's certainly something to take into consideration. If Ward is used to a bigger ring, then he could get trapped in the corner or ropes a lot quicker this time, which could be a game changer. I just find it interesting because you rarely hear ring size get talked about.

Ring sizes were talked about quite often some years back but i guess it was because of the mega events back then. The bigger the spectacle, the more items see daylight.

Isn't 21 feet rhe maximum allowed size with 16 being the smallest? At least thats what I have always thought. Regardless, 20 feet is on the larger side.

Not sure, but the Lara Canelo ring was 18.

Tiny in comparison, and Ward doesnt rely on running like Lara does.

Wonder how many feet the ring was for GGG v Jacobs, cuz Danny had plenty of wiggle room in every direction.

What makes you think that the Canelo Lara was 18 feet? It's smaller than Ward Kovalev 1, but 3-4 feet smaller? It looks more like 1-2 feet smaller, and from what Duva is saying the first fight's ring must have been more than 20 feet.

Kathy Duva also wants a 20 inch **** inside her. Not gonna lie I'd give her 7 inches, the hot slag.

Not sure why... ward would prob prefer a small ring to smother kov and work the inside.

Kova and ward both had success at range but no doubt ward eats him up on the inside

Considering the fighting styles how does this make any sense? Or is it just joke for sh@ts and giggles.
