Ward is the most mentally tough fighter since PBF he's in Kovalev's head

Yet got a dubious decision in the 1st fight and was dropped early on.... It wasn't even supposed to be close. How is Ward in Kovalevs head? Kovalev feels he won the 1st fight, as do many fans, pundits etc.

 

I guess we see different things. Kovalev is the one who's acting out not Ward. Ward is being his usual cool and calm self, filled with confidence. This guy doesn't know how to lose he hasn't lost a fight since he was 13.

He didn't seem so mentally tough after the fight when he saw that a good majority of the people, including Floyd himself, saw Kovalev as the rightful winner.

 

You say it was dubious I disagree. I scored it for Ward so I felt he won. Kovalev is the one who went home with an L, he has the doubt not Ward. Kovalev fought a good fight but not good enough he couldn't finish Ward when he had him down. That does something to a fighter's psyche. Especially when they get back up and begin to take the fight to you. I have no doubt that Ward will be in Kovalev's grill all night smothering his power and going to work on him on the inside. Kovalev will be even more frustrated in this fight and I look for him to intentionally foul later in the fight.

Well many fans, pundits, fighters consider it a questionable decision.. So it's controversial regardless of what you think. By your logic lingering doubt could be in Wards head as well "Did I really win the fight" "Maybe I got a gift" "Will I do enough this time" etc. That said... I seriously doubt either will come in mentally unprepared, there was no sign of that whatsoever in the 1st fight

As for the fouling.... I sure hope he does... About time Ward gets a taste of his own medicine, dirtiest fighter in the game.

Kovalev was in Ward's head when he told him he was going to end his career. That's when Team Ward released information about the JDJ thing. Sounds like Ward was shook and had to counter.

As far as boxing goes, Ward had the skill and will to figure Kovalev out after rd 4, and my prediction is that he will dominate Ward this time around.

 

Kovalev leaving is probably a publicity to stunt to steal back coverage because of the announcement of Mayweather-0-0-0 (0 KO). Because now the question is "why did Kovalev leave?"
