Don't blame me, Corrales's camp and Alex Ariza who was working with him had been stating it before the Mayweather fight!
The weight draining was serious. Heck, I didn't even know that Corrales missed the weight and had to keep doing it for 30 minutes before the final deadline to make the weight!

He made it because he was broke and needed money and he didn't blow up in weight the way he did before hte Mayweather fight.

Why do you even bother arguing with that guy? Do you forget the lengthy diatribes he went on before the Mayweather-Pacman fight happened? Him and abuffy (she sure ran out of this forum after that loss,) would write these ridiculously long essays which were nothng more than subjective puff pieces. A wannabe know it all who self anointed himself the 2014 poster of the year.

Someone made mention to me that he's a dental student. That shocks me, and that's coming from someone in the healthcare field who is much further ahead in his career than him (if he really even is in dental school.) I don't know how the healthcare system is in other countries, but I don't think he would've had a chance in hell gaining admissions in the states. Everyone in my medical school exhibited a certain level of class and humility. That guy is downright narcissistic and for really no reason. I stopped responding to him months ago, he's not a credible poster whatsoever.

He missed it because he miscalculated his weight cutting, not because he was drained LOL.

Like I said, if it was so difficult for him, he should have moved up to 135, no?

No he did not, he continued to fight at 130 and was the champ 3 years later. It's bogus.

Indeed. I've been saying the same thing for years. Comparing actual quality of wins, with when they happened being significant but not exactly most important is the only way to compare accomplishments.

    Good stuff.

I don't think many appreciate how long some of the odds were on Manny earlier on: these things fluctuate, but Barrera I wound up at 4-1 odds favoring Marco, Ledwaba was 7-1 to 10-1 for LL, and while I can't track down the odds for the Sasakul fight, I don't see how they could've been any narrower.

You don't just miscalculate for so long that you need to make weight up until slightly before the deadline.
He did go to 136lbs afterwards, then slowly made his way back to 130 to chase the big fight with Casa and the point is that he didn't blow up in weight like he did before mayweather anymore.
    He did, it's on HBO.

Very convenient how it always revolves around Floyd.

False narrative of course. The real story was Corrales was 100% fresh, miscalculated slightly, happens to everyone. ALmost happened to Garcia too in the Matthysse fight. Even Merchant said, wouldn't have mattered if it was 135 or 140, Floyd would have still wiped him out.

That being said, he was still fresh, no excuses from Corrales himself even after fight. He was against the vastly better man.

Corrales was severely drained due to his special circumstances leading up to the fight, as a sidenote he had problems as it is making that weight before according to Alex Ariza and Corrales himself (obviously not overwhelming for him not be able to make the weight, but the fast weight cut before May fight and the circumstances he was in = Corrales was in a bad state) - Corrales is elite but no HOF'er in any case and was tailor made for Mayweather.

I couldn't agree more. Excellent post! The guy made a thread saying "PBF never dared to be great". That right there tells you that he can't be taken seriously when discussing anything PBF related and is troll status.

All those essays but yet proven dead wrong. I may need to bump some of them just to get a good laugh.

The only circumstances he was in was he was against the vastly better fighter, and that was the best win in the 2000's.

    Corrales - #4 p4p fighter, wiped out in 10 rounds, 5 knockdowns.

He was absolutely perfect, a lot of fighters out there make slight miscalculations on their weight cutting. He still made it.

Nothing he could do that night, beat up.
