Yeah I listened to half of that video until he started comparing it to the Patriots playing a soccer team in football. That's a ridiculous comparison, you're comparison of a triathlete vs a swimmer is a much better analogy. My analogy was a track "hurdler" vs a distance runner in a long distance race. As much as I see this as a circus, I still don't see how it's the foregone conclusion of Floyd easily winning as many think it is. Conor can punch, we know this. We know that Conor is not a well rounded UFC fighter, he doesn't rely on a ground game, or submissions really or kicks like other fighters do, but he's so good at punching it wins him UFC fights. Being good at punching gives him a chance in boxing. That don't mean he's going to outbox Floyd Mayweather or anything, but with a reach advantage, some good hand speed and punching power, he's got a chance.

Many people seem to be making just ridiculous exaggerations like comparing it to an NFL team playing a soccer team in an NFL game. That's just stupid, that doesn't describe what this is at all. Conor would be able to beat a lot of boxers just based on how big of a puncher he is. Other top more well rounded MMA fighters wouldn't be able to beat many boxers because their specialty isn't punching. This isn't hard to understand.

The only way McGregor has a chance is if we see the kind of thing we saw in Haye/Bellew.

Mayweather gets some ridiculous injury because of his age and can't fight.

Only Mayweather is too cautious for that kind of thing. He would never risk going into a big fight with injuries.

No. It's a foregone conclusion and shadow111 is ******ed.

Unless he has Martinez knees, Floyd will win without trouble. Easiest fight since 1998/97 for Floyd.

McGregor is going to be exposed as a Glass Jawed Fraud. He hasn't been punched on his Chin by someone who knows how to correctly throw a punch and has excellent hand speed and precision pinpoint punching ability. Huge difference between getting punched by those caveman MMA fighters and a topshelf Boxer.

Jim Lampley confirming what I've been saying about Conor's slow counterpunching style...absolutely tailor made for Mayweather:

What the hell do you expect him to say? No mainstream boxing analyst is ever gonna come on and say that Floyd is gonna lose to Conor or that Conor even has a chance. There's a huge amount of pride amonst the boxing community, they quite rightfully can't fathom an MMA fighter beating a boxer in boxing, because saying that would open themselves up to all sorts of questions and mockery from the boxing community. We're talking about an MMA fighter fighting possibly the greatest defensive boxer technician of all time.

There's all sorts of pride involved here. Quite simply, 99% of every hardcore boxing fan or boxing public figure is going to give Conor no chance, and they'll naturally be a split amonst UFC / MMA fans or casuals regarding if Conor has a chance.

As far as Lampley saying that Conor has a slow counter punching style, he has no flipping idea what he’s talking about. (and I like and respect Lampley) Conor has a completely unpredictable style and there’s nothing absolutely nothing slow about it. I mean this is just maddening to hear such a point made about McGregor. The fact that he’s not just a plodding overly aggressive puncher means that it’s going to be a much more multi-dimensional fight than Lampley is expecting. I mean for Lampley to say that Conor has the complete wrong style to fight Floyd is ridiculous. Floyd has never fought anybody like Conor, and frankly the fact that he’s skilled at counter punching and has punching power, well that should tell you that Floyd is gonna have his hands full.

Understand that Conor is not your typical MMA fighter. This guy is a puncher, Conor is NOT a well rounded MMA fighter, Conor is seriously motivated to take it to Floyd. I’d be shocked if Floyd just sparks this guy out of there in 1 round. Floyd hasn’t had a real knockout in a decade. Conor has proved that he has a good chin. I’m expecting this to be a fight.

37% of people polled believe Conor is going to beat FlIVd. Absolutely hilarious and delusional.

The fans drive everything man everyone else is just trying to make money by giving people what they're asking for. Nothing shameful about it.

To be fair, this isn't exactly unprecedented.

Was Ali vs that Japanese wrestler any better?

It's been a brilliant year for boxing.

If someone had told me we'd have seen Ward/Kovalev twice, Canelo/Golovkin, Thurman/Garcia, Joshua/Klitschko and Brook/Spence Jr all within 10 months I'd have never believed it.

Then this piece of **** comes along and announces the fight that no-one wants. What makes me even more furious about the fight is the timing of it.

When has a PPV ever been scheduled for August 26th? A deliberate, petty and pathetic attempt to take buys from Canelo/Golovkin - a huge fight that deserves huge publicity that will now get a lot less thanks to this farce.

Mayweather just couldn't bare the thought of another fight/event being in the spotlight and didn't even have the decency to let these guys have their time. Let him have his cash-grab and he can **** off once and for all.

Shame on the NSAB and Showtime for allowing this farce.
