Kovalev got his azz beat. Yall can say what you want, but the bottom line, Ward stopped him and beat his azz

 

He bent over and wasn't fighting back. When the ref stepped in he keeled over and sat on the bottom rope.

 

Kov was done. He didn't even complain. His face said it all.

 

It's such a shame, robbed everyone there, robbed kovalev the chance to come back, robbed ward of a definitive stoppage & robbed the fans of a potentially great 2nd half.

Terrible refereeing.

 

Stoppage is just weird as hell.

Kovalev was hurt, but he wasn't even down. The first of the 1st of 3 shots was definitely a low blow. You can see it in the replay. The last 2 was low judging by the trajectory.

Yea, Ward destroyed Kov's body... but that stoppage could've been handled without controversy.

Agreed completely. Early stoppage but bad instincts from Kovalev, and he would have a mountain to climb to get back into things.

Why did he even do that? He was gonna get the decision by usual borderline/illegal tactics.
