There's a lot of disagreement on the nature of the stoppage by ref Tony Weeks. Was it just?

Bad stoppage last blow was low. Having said that, Kovalev looked done. He was gassed. I don't think the outcome would of changed now way he had 5 rounds left. Maybe 1 or 2,

No it wasn't. Look at Marg vs Cotto, that is how you handle a fighter going down on his knees.

Kovalev left Weeks no choice. Kovalev should've fired back or took a knee. Weeks did drop the ball on not calling the low blows, but in the end Kovalev was getting schooled and was on his way to losing anyway.

Nobody heard a peep outta Kovalev during the stoppage. He didn't complain about low blows or the stoppage. He started complaining in the interview. Ward was hurting him with that body shot all night and he was trying to fake a low blow but Weeks was up on that BS.

Very, very bad stoppage. In Championship fights of thid magnitude fighters should be given more chance than that.

No. But Kov would have been stopped and Kovalev was trying to milk the situation for time or a point deduction. I kind of wish they didnt stop it so Ward could have got up and punished the racist more.

    Pretty simple really.

A good stoppage isn't possible if the fight is stopped due to a illegal blow.

Not a good stoppage, but Kovalev was done. Weeks saved his career. Ward was sharp and trained to land power shots.
