But incidentally, let's talk about John David Jackson/Kovalev. Did you see the video of Kovalev pretty much tossing JDJ under the bus?

He was saying how he doesn't listen to anything JDJ says in the corner, he only listens to his Russian friend, and how JDJ has nothing good to say in between rounds.

I would be damn surprised if they don't separate after this.

Love it how you can read from Kovalevs lips "For ****'s sake" ("Blyad" in Russian) :D Ward has cemented his legacy with this ****.

It was a barrage of punches that led to the stoppage. By the last shot which was a low blow, Kovalev was so low down, there was no way Weekes was going to spot the low blow, rather, it was the punches as one cluster and a visibly wobbly Kovalev for a notable amount of time that caused the stoppage.

Weeks could have given him a count, he was sitting on the ropes, therefore the ropes should have been deemed to holding him up.

That's a count, not a stoppage, Weeks waved that off far too quickly.

I actually think Ward would have probably stopped him, Kovalev looked very tired and in trouble and that's my point, we actually don't know but were denied the chance to find out.

Not one of those punches were uppercuts to the balls like one might throw in a brawl. Every shot touched belt. Kovalev was bent over trying to avoid them. You have a dog in this hunt. Don't try to come off as completely objective.

Yeah, Ward took out all of the steam from his balls.

How more blatant do you actually want it?

I hope they do, JDJ has robbed Kovalev of his essence, **** this tactical bull****, he's the Krusher, stop trying to outbox boxers, he clearly can, but when its someone like Ward, go for the kill, and he's lost that edge.

I do agree with you on Kova's stamina. But some of it had to do with all the grappling he had to do with Ward, on top of having to chase Ward down. That'll sap anyone's energy but Kova does not have great stamina either way. If he did, he would have stopped Ward in the first fight.

of course I am :bananaride I already wrote that the last punch was ****ing awfull for Kovalev and it was a low blow. That video proved my point. And the same referee let Pulev to stand up from 10 knockdowns against Wlad!

When you bend down anything goes?

    Headbutts?
    Kicks?

WTF you talking about. A low blow is a low blow, check the rule book.

This argument has some merit, imo. I would not have objected had Weeks given a count and allowed the fight to go on.

Yeah it was on the belt. Which is of course legal. And before that he had Kovalev reeling from the big right to the head, which was itself setup by a body attack. I expected him to get up and was shocked it was stopped, but Kovalev was punished, and had a look of both hurt and quit on his face.

Ironically he hits him where the letter "B" is. Pretty sure all the letters on his short are a good few inches below his belt.
