    I thought about it for about 2 seconds and come to the conclusion if you're being hit in the nuts you're unable to keep your hands up. I used to play in goal at soccer/football and know fully well how it feels to be hit flush in the balls flush. You see tiny stars, and you lose your breath. That's what happening in this fight.

    They were borderline shots and Kovalev had protection. Kovalev was using Bernard's 'buy time' tricks. He didn't want to fight anymore.

    A punch to the pubic region is still a punch to the pubic region, it is painful. Are you a man? That's where the bladder is housed, and the pubic bone which hurts like hell to get hit. Even then, some of those were clearly to ball/cup region.
