Keep telling yourself that. Let wait for Nevada State Athletic Commission to chime in.

I can't say for certain it's genuine but it certainly looks to be. They have accurately followed Tony Weeks' career for the last year.

The ref(if genuine) has already tainted this victory and admitted he made a mistake stopping the fight due to low blows.

The ref has discretion to give a fighter a count if the ropes are holding him up or if he is not intelligently defending himself. Basically I don't think it would have been right for Ward to be deducted a point there and for Kov to have been given 5 minutes when he was already about to be stopped from the accumulation of punches and at the moment was leaning over and Ward didn't seem to be aiming for a low blow. For Weeks to pause the fight right there and give Kov 5 minutes would have negated all that Ward had done up to that point which all appeared to be legal or borderline. You have to take into account whether the punch was intentional or not. When you got a guy leaning hunched over like that, for Ward to try to get in a body shot there not knowing where Kovalev's belt-line was doesn't in my view warrant a point deduction. Not to say that low blows shouldn't be punished, but you have to take into account the entirety of the situation in which a low blow occurs, including the positioning of the fighter who receives the low blow. Basically it was a very difficult decision for Weeks to make in real-time, yes hindsight is 20/20 with super slow mo replays but if he didn't see that in real-time then he shouldn't be criticized for not calling it as such.

There's no such thing as a standing 10 count. Never has, never will be. You can admit that no ref in history has called for a standing 10 count or ramble aimlessly.

If Weeks can't see 3 dubious low-blows consecutively he shouldn't be refereeing World title boxing fights.

He could have either given him a standing 8 count due to the ropes holding Kovalev up or waited until Kovalev was knocked down then started a count. But he made the decision to save Kovalev from further punishment. Weeks had a tough decision to make, with a lot going on so I'm not going to sit here and criticize him. All I can do is say what he could have done instead.

    Let's be clear:
    1. The ropes were not supporting Kovalev until after Weeks called it. You can clearly see the way the ropes bend to accommodate Kovalev AFTER Weeks calls it.
    2. Standing 8 counts are not allowed under IBF/WBC/Etc rules, and under American rules.
    3. Kovalev had been wobbling around and was now not defending himself at all. The referee CANNOT call any count. That's just a TKO.

The problem comes from all the low blows.

The low blows could have been what exposed Kovalev to the head shots that left him wobbling around. And Weeks should've let Kovalev recover from the low blows at the end instead of stopping it.

Personally, I'm not as worried about the low blows at the end because I think Kovalev was done by that point. I'm more worried about the low blows that may have exposed Kovalev to the head shots.
