Come on, dude. You too? Weeks is on TV multiple times a year. He is recognized by thousands upon thousands of people. Like him or not, he is a public figure.
Did you guys know that he reffed a Kick-boxing event a few weeks ago? That wasn't on that fake twitter account. Know why? Cause the dumb kid who's behind that fake account didn't know.
Look, I'm pretty involved in amateur boxing. I know refs who work both amateurs and pro bouts. They WILL NOT go on their social media and say they are working a bout and "it should be a good fight". That's something a FAN WOULD SAY. Not a real ref.

The account is obviously real - it goes back a long time and is connected to the accounts of several other referees and boxing writers.

I think Weeks was paid off but is now trying to make us believe that he gave the fight to Ward by mistake, and not because he got a million dollars from Roc Nation.

That account is fake or has been hacked. Tony Weeks did not write that . if he did itd be career suicide.

Well the crazy thing about the Rigondeaux fight is that the ref Drakulich actually did in fact utilize replay even though I thought they weren't allowed to. I mean that was just a massive miscommunication that definetly seemed to set the stage for something crazy in the main event. With the Rigondeaux fight the ref decided to use replay but still made what appeared to be the wrong decision. That was incredibly awkward and I've really never seen anything like that. I've never seen a ref ever do something like what Drakulich did with getting the NSAC commissioner out there or whatever, then to go through the video only to get a wrong interpretation of the video then to make the ruling that everyone knew shouldn't have been made. I give Drakulich credit for trying to make the correct decision, but unfortunately even with replay and the NSAC commish still made the wrong decision. It should have been a no contest based on what Drakulich was saying about how Rigo was holding behind the head and punching, then knocked the dude out with a punch after the bell.

I thought the punch came after the bell as well and considering the **** show with Dirrel a couple of weeks ago, I expected a DQ. I salute Drakulich for respecting the weight of the decision he was about to make (you can see his hands shaking whe he first talks to the Nevada State boxing bureaucrat) and he had the wisdom to slow down, talk to Robert Bird (who I'm guessing has been a collegue and peer for 30 or 40 years), look at the tape and then make a decision and simultaneously set a precedent. That is grace under pressure. I think history might have been made tonight and not necessarily in the main event.

Kovalev getting KTFO seems to have caused some real mental health issues. People are losing their minds. We should start a fund for these victims.

Yeah and the weirdest thing was it seemed like Drakulich was saying and doing all the right things in his talks with Bryd and the bureaucrat. He pretty much said he was about to rule it a no contest. But then all of a sudden something happened or was said, still not sure what exactly, and then he then decided it was a KO. Which made absolutely no sense because if anything the decision seemed to initially be between a No Contest or a DQ, because Drakulich was carrying on about how Rigondeaux was holding his head while hitting which set up the Knockout Blow. I really really think this should be changed to a No Contest when you consider the hitting while holding the back of his head, then Rigo landing a post-bell punch while the ref was calling for a break. I mean literally any one of those 3 separate things should prevent it from being a KO. TO have all 3 of those things happen, AND REPLAY, its unacceptable for that to be then ruled incorrectly. And obviously Lampley and Max saw how wrong it was and pressed the bureaucrat on it. For them to spend all that time talking and watching replays only to come up with the completely wrong decision was simply breathtaking. I mean I'm still in shock when I heard Rigo won by KO.

I'm pretty much with you, except for the one thing that I think changed Drakulich's mind: they were both throwing after the bell. Rigo's blow landed first and clean. I would have been ok w/no contest, but in retrospect, I'm ok with the KO.
