Never did I think that was possible but even Mayweather didn't cheat the way this fraud cheats. This guy is despicable from his character to what he does in a win I never seen him win a fight without cheating I can't believe this guy is allowed to box. He tries to get every advantage he can before he even gets in the ring and once he is it he cheats clinches, holds, headbuts, lowblows and whats worse is the referee's allow this. Carl froch use to complain about how this guy uses illegal tactics and I knew it back then but today this is even more proof of how much of a cheater he is. One thing im happy about is no one really likes this cheater he has no fans
Lol! Ward isn't going to HW. They're all just flapping their lips. Ward would get killed up there. Wlad and Fury would mutilate him.
As a Mayweather and Ward fan I just think Mayweather is truly a fighter. Watch him in that first Maidana fight, and regardless of whether you think he won the fight - he has a lot of heart. The Mosley fight - ditto. And while I think Ward does have heart - showed us this in the first Kov fight - he tends to fight very dirty. I am a big Ward fan as well, but low blows are low blows. Many Ward fans will claim Kov was done, and because he was done that low blows aren't low blows - which is deluded fan boy logic. Kov was hit low and it wasn't right. It is a bad look for boxing. Even if he was nearly done it isn't right to give Ward a pass for hitting him low.
I never really minded his dirty tactics before. Most fighters bend the rules, use of the head inside, using elbow the lever opponents off, shots to hips and thighs like Hopkins used to do, clinching to break your opponents rhythm, it's all done to gain a slight edge but these infractions don't dramatically turn fights around. What Ward did last night went beyond bending the rules for me. He didn't need to do it, for me he was winning the fight but he landed low and had a ref that gave him a green light to continue to do so as he seemed oblivious to these low blows as Kovalev also landed a low shot earlier in the fight that Weeks didn't seem to notice or care about. I don't know why Ward decided to do it. Was he struggling and looking for a way out or was it simply a case of the opportunity being there, where he could low blow with impunity and so did so to get the win sooner. Either way he didn't win any fans last night and it personally was a very unsatisfying ending.
Well, with a fighter like Ward, the referee should warn him ahead of time that if he choses to lead with his head, low blow his opponent, use his elbows and constantly clinch, points will be deducted.
He did hit him low 2 times the fight, got warned for one of them. However Sergei got rocked by a headshot and a bodyshot and it's really hard to recover from that. Especially when Sergei was looking gassed before that moment and Ward was comming on stronger. If you throw like 3-4 punches to wards 25-30+ hard shots I Don't see why the fight shouldn't be stopped, He wasn't defending himself and was slumped over sitting at the ropes.
