You Cant win a fight landing 3 consecutive lowblows

At that point, I think Weeks gave him every chance to survive, it wasn't like it was a spur of the moment thing, he was hit by that massive right hand and was getting beat pillar to post for at least 20-25 seconds, Kovalev barely threw anything back and Ward was landing huge shots.

I would have given him 1 last chance, but I think Weeks saw enough. It was a sustained beating for at least 30 secs.

 

He also turned his back on ward twice weeks could have stopped the fight then if he wanted.

 

Did it in r7 too after those 2 legit body shots. Once early in r7 for no reason whatsoever, he just turned his back and faced the turnbuckle, Weeks had to tell him to turn around. Odd.

I'm sorry but this was legit, that last one I can say no because that was so close, but the nutshots were bogus, the last one sure but he was slouched down, and wasn't throwing jack. It was a FAIR stoppage.

 

It was not fair you could clearly see him bent over and hurt because he got hit on the balls a normal ref would of gave him 5 mins and let the action start again

He was not throwing back because he was in pain because got hit on the nutz

 

He was turning his back in r7 even when those shots were clearly legit, twice!

He was so gassed in the 8th, that right hand pretty much ended the night. That's all it was, the LAST shot was a bit low, sure, but at that time he was already done.

Even Kovalev didn't complain after he got stopped.

 

I cant see It any other way than the ref was paid off. it was a weird stoppage. you don't stop a fight after a guy fouls, ending the fight in his favour. it was unbelievable. I am pretty certain Ward was taking over and was going to get the KO or TKO but that stoppage stunk to high heaven. it was pathetic, and Ward celebrating afterwards after just pounding away at Kov's ball sack was not a good look. Ward just cant win this fight without controversy. If it just lasted long enough for a proper finish you wouldn't get all these questions. Ref has a lot to answer for.

 

He was turning his back to make the ref aware but anyway whatever it is it was a bull**** end and I do agree ward was gonna win anyway he had far more energy and kovalev was gassing(he has shocking stamina tbh) so it makes no difference its just that it was unjust to kovy if ward was in that situation it would of been different its sucks that's all.

For me Ward didn't have to resort to that he was gonna most likely end up winning anyways.

Kovalev had his shorts covering his naval so below the belt is legal. Kovalev tried to hide his weak liver and the round before the stoppage he doubled over when Ward caught him on the liver. Since Ward didn't go for the kill then because he thought Kovalev was complaining to the ref. The ref said fight and shortly after the bell rung. The liver shot , I believe Kov never fully recovered from. He then went on to get stopped the next round.

 

Bull**** I agree in terms of the stoppage. I would have given him one last chance, but at that point he wasn't throwing so I can't blame him all TOO much.

And for sure, there was no way Kovalev was winning yesterday, he was so spent even starting in the 5th.

 

I don't know if you noticed I was never really that high on Kovalev his one dimensional he got dropped many times in his career and his chin for me is suspect but Golovkin on the other hand this dude is the real deal is a complete fighter.

 

You can get on down the road with them weak ass comments. That's not gonna help your cause. If I am an internet warrior then what does that make you? An internet weakling.The fact is your boy got his ho card pulled. He didn't have no fight left in him, when Weeks stopped the fight there was no complaint from him what so ever. If it wasn't for the ropes, he would have been on his ass. You was talking all that smack before the fight now you can't handle the consequences of your boy losing.
