Nope, doesn't work that way. Joshua was exhausted against Wlad and badly hurt. And we all know what happened. Lampley has it wrong. He's entitled to his opinion, though, even if he drew the wrong conclusion. The fight was stopped because of a low blow. That's what we know. And we also know Kovalev had not gone down, and had not been given a count. It's a shame the fight ended that way, but that's what it is. Trying to put lipstick on the pig here, it would seem, by Lampley. But it's still a pig.
I know some of you are finding this hard to process, but the referee had to save Kovalev from Ward. He was in no position to protect himself. Again, nothing like Joshua-Klitschko where Joshua was getting out of the way of Wlads punches.
maybe his nuts have not dropped yet? which would explain his perspective on the location of a nut sack?
it was a great punch but there have been a lot of great punches in boxing, so what? the fact is he didn't go down and should have been given a chance to fight on after the low blow. Kov most likely would have lost but there would be no question marks. you say its clear cut, but others don't. to silence those others the fight needed to end in a conclusive way, then people would shut up! it didn't end conclusive, the ref stopped the fight after a low blow, in the fouls favour lol. it looked sketchy to me, first chance ref had and he was straight in there ending it, Richard Steele style. did Ward no favours. he will need another fight to shut everyone up now.
So if Weeks had stopped the action and took a point from Ward, how do you see the fight going from that point on? I personally think Kov was gassed and would have been beaten up and stopped in the next round or two. His bad reffing took Kov's chance to come back and tarnished a good win for Ward.
You don't have to take it from me. The footage is available for all to view. Kovalev was unable to protect himself, left the ref with little choice. This content is protected
I don't take it from you, and I saw the fouling blow(s) that wrongly ended the bout. It happened, we move on.
The best punch Ward's landed in his career. Put it in the context of how it was not just a perfect counter over Kov's left, but how Ward had managed the flow of the fight and slowly weakened Kovalev till he was leaving himself exposed... and it was absolute genius.
No I am not Kovalev fan.I saw a mistake committed and i hate seeing it there needs to something done when refs fails to do their job.
There was 5 in total what I saw. Anybody who denies seeing them needs glasses or a bigger TV. The one earlier in the fight when Ward was verbally warned. I really don't care if people think it was a "tap" but there was 1 in round 7 during a clinch when Ward had his forehead in Kov's face, not head, his actual face and hit his nuts which the ref missed. And 3 consecutive ones which ended the fight.
Kova was already hurt with a head shot it was a matter of time that ward was going to stop him anyways now stop crying
And be considered for the #1 PFP spot after winning on nut shots! "Bu.. Bu.. But dat right hand doe!!" Yeah maybe that happened do to Sergey being a tad bit concerned with another testicle thump having been cracked there prior a few times! Ward
