Remember when people said ggg would beat ward?

Well, you didn't miss anything if you haven't followed him, basic slugger, very good jab and power, bad ring iq, bad stamina, average punch variety, throws straight punches most of the time, one dimensional, overrated resume.

Kovalev is a good fighter but not as amazing as some people make him out to be.

 

agreed maybe ill study him more...( im not always right but USUALLY am)...im guessing i could give this guyy a better match than most who actually trained for it on 3 weeks notice...and thats just bc what you said is spot on...SMH.....

See the problem with this line of thinking? We don't know what would happen between GGG and Ward unless they fight.

 

Nah , he's not basic at all. He would be one of the best controllers of range in the sport. You need to have ATG level talent like Ward to be able to get in on him and even Ward found it very difficult.
GGG with his straight forward attack and no upperbody movement is getting speared into oblivion as he moves in.

Go back and rewatch the Cleverly fight and see how he was close to death after only 4 rounds. Poor Nate had looked like he was beaten down by a heavy weight. He said after ward that even shots to his shoulders hurt like hell.
Ward made Froch look bad , doesn't mean Froch is a bad boxer.

 

Pimp C, how can you say that GGG fans didn't want the fight Ward? I've always wanted and all the fans that I know always wanted that fight and from What I see here majority of GGG fans want this fight.

 

Dino, did GGG had a luxury of not fighting the way he was? He wouldn't get a lot fans if he wasn't fighting the way he was. He is straightforward when he knows there no threat for him.

 

Say what you will about GGG fans, no fans are worse than Floyds delusional fanbase. Ward fans are definitely 2nd most irrational.

 

Ain't no GGG fans were clamouring for the Ward fight. With all due respect i never seen you before. They did not encourage GGG to fight Ward , i can tell you that straight off the bat.

 

Probably because he is eastern european and those guys seem to have a hype on this forum, i have no problem with that, i like some of them as well but as objective as i am, usually i can't see that a guy like Kovalev is as special as some of his fans think he is.
