I understand, I don't mind all the crazy Sergey talk it's when folks start initiating the double standards and become defensive when Ward and his team did the same except more subtle and structured.

Round 9 would have likely ended with Ward simply mauling Sergey into submission though it isn't completely out of the question that Kovalev could have found a nasty right to land in Ward just highly unlikely.

Sorry, no, Ward didn't say or act anything near to what Kovalev did. Seriously I can't let you get away with such a ridiculous statement. Ward was the consummate professional throughout the buildup. He was nothing but respectful towards Kovalev, and Kovalev was talking all this crap and insulting Ward and the whole nine. Man you saying that Ward and his team did the same as Kov would be like saying Lennox Lewis acted the same as Tyson did in their buildup lol. No, just no.

Ward and his team were nothing but true professionals, they were laid back, they didn't make any outlandish predictions, had no animosity towards Kovalev's team. But Kovalev's team acted so disrespectful and talked so much **** it's not even funny. And frankly that makes buildups fun, but when you talk smack then you get your ass handed to you, you look all the worse because of it.

Are you serious? Kovalev was completely gassed. He had hardly anything left on his punches by the time Ward started putting it to him. Sergey may have been able to stumble around the ring for another round or two, but Ward was in seek and destroy mode. Ward was just getting started and Kovalev was completely gassed, in pain and out in his feet. Kovalev was getting stopped, it was just a matter of time. I thought he was about to get stopped since about the 5th or 6th round. Ward was just setting him up for power shots.

There were certain responses that could be viewed as offensive from a nationalistic perspective when hunter alluded to the drinking with Kovalev and fighters cut from the same cloth as kovalev but I'm with you for the most part maybe not as one sided but I mainly agree Ward was a true gent.

As for the 9th round I said a Sergey comeback was highly unlikely not sure how much more anti climatic I can get with that prediction. He was on his way to being mopped around the ring but you know what they say an animal is most dangerous when wounded.

The fact kov was bent over for so of those low blows meant when.the globe hit the 'b' on his trunks it also must have done something to his beez - look at replay

Him.being bent over meant punch most likely hit him lower than if he was standing upright

Perhaps Kovalev's balls are located just under his belly button and we are just mistaken ? no ? :p

Looks like Weeks was on the verge of jumping in and probably didn't see it low, just the dramatic body language leading up to and during the final sequence. Kovalev was breathing heavy like a dog and clearly getting hurt around the ring before that, so it's unfortunate if the final blow was the tipping point for the ref to save Ward from this now-to-be controversy for this fight.

What is your interpretation of where the first two left hooks landed prior to that last one? Can you confirm that there have been no camera views of those first two hooks where we can see where those landed? In your estimation were those first two left hooks legal? First one looked above the belt-line, 2nd one looked on the belt-line. (both OK to you?) Those legal punches appeared to hurt Kovalev and it was those that I think caused Weeks to decided to stop the fight, and as he was walking over to them Ward got in that last one just south of the border. Essentially, like you said, it appeared that even if Ward didn't throw that last punch, Weeks was ready to stop it anyway from the first two legal punches and the way Kov had been reacting.
