No , on the belt is a legal blow.. Under the belt is an illegal blow.

    Its not complicated.

The referees as they are giving instructions at the beginning of the fight signal where punches are legal. Weeks showed where it was legal and pointed to a point on the middle of the white part of Kovalev's trunks. Ward was landing punches there, on the middle part of that belt-line. There were a couple towards the bottom of the white part of the belt-line, to those you could call "borderline". A low blow would be something clearly aimed south of the border. Like on the black part of Kov's trunks.

Check the intructions in the beginning of the fight where weeks clearly states that on the waistband is ok, and below is low.

So I guess you can go to the nearest exit.

lol.. Bowe had to be taken out on a gurney. He took real shots to the nuts. Nothing fake about it. Combos actually from a heavy handed 250 pound man.
And Golota looped his low blows up through Bowes legs landing flush on his sack.

In between nut shots he took many a body shots to the chops and belt line and didn't slouch over in pain. Bowe was a real tough guy though , he fought back harder which is why Golota had to nut shot him even more..

If you think they were the same as Wards you have obviously never seen the fight

I'm not into the narrative that Ward was doing it all night. And Kovalev was fowling at times too. When the fight was stopped though some of those shots were low, no doubt. Doesn't matter if it clapped sack or not - low is low.

the one right there on the frozen video is exactly like wards. i seen both fights live and i wasn't nursing at the time, unlike you. the second fight was far worse. the first one was a definite acting job.

The belly button is not a line.. The padded belt that goes all the way around the waist is the line. Under that belt is considered low.
What don't you get about it?

So what if you saw it live? That means nothing. You were probably up in the nose bleeds. You can see what happened more clearly going off slowed down video footage.

Bowe was upright when he took looping combos straight on the nuts , you could almost see his nuts get flattened. . Kovalev was in a squatted position , his balls were out of harms way. All the shots before that were on the belt line.
Golota went bellow the belt line. Its as clear as day.. You're lying again. All you do is come on here and post lies.

The shorts are supposed to be aligned with the belly button, ie waist line. Can't be a 4" line

Yea, there was a time mainly starting with Lewis, where they were basically wearing capris into the ring. Luckily most of these guys have gotten away from that. Since i started watching boxing with my dad I the mid to late 80s as a kid. Belly button has always been the low blow line, if the trunks are high, the ref will try to establish a line.

I don't think Wards shots were 100%intentional. He was very smartly trying to break down Kov to the body, the problem was most of them were borderline, and a lot of them were clearly low. It was Weeks job to make Andre aware so he could force his shots a few inches higher. And if he couldn't get to the body then Kov was being efficient enough for Ward not to land.
