Jeffries never fought a man over 200lbs who had any ability.His best wins are over Corbett x2 188lbs and183lbs Fitzsimmons x2 167lbs and 172lbs Sharkeyx2 183lbs and 185lbs Ruhlin 200lbs
Once Joshua proves he has ATG characteristics then let's discuss. He may end up as Kovalev. He may end up exhibiting characteristics that lift him to Jeffries level. However until this point in time he should not be mentioned as being at an ATG level.
Don't think anyone has claimed that for him. Personally I don't think he will be an ATG, but I'm very sparing with the word great. How does he do against; 5' "8 183lbs Sharkey ? 37and 39 years old 167lbs and 172lbs Fitz? 33&36 years old 182lbs and 188lbs Corbett?
An ATG is in an entirely different and higher class than non ATG fighters. I never bet on an ordinary fighter like Joshua winning over a proven ATG.
The real question would be how would Joshua perform in the ring under similar conditions. 1900, 20-25 round bouts, one of which fought in frying pan conditions. Not well IMO.
Your entire thought pattern is incorrect. Jeffries was and is an ATG fighter. How you feel does not change history. Do you honestly believe YOU know more about how good Jeffries was than those who watched him live from ringside? Hardly.
