NSAC Bob Bennett: Ward's low blows are legal.

I've created 2 threads where I specifically addressed the low blows, one talking about the final 3 punches of the fight (the first two of those hooks we cannot see where they landed from the camera angles, though those first two hooks appeared to be good) and another talking about the other "low blows" before that. Can you specifically address exactly how many of Ward's punches do you deem to be low blows? I saw exactly one low blow which was the final punch of the fight. That I agree was low, only slightly, but it was low. Besides that, all the others appeared to be borderline or legal. If you are going to continue to say that Ward landed all these low blows as in plural then be specific. Belt-line shots are legal, so please don't misrepresent the amount of low blows that there were just because you're upset that Kovalev lost.

And also, specifically in the one in the 7th round, do you understand that Ward's belt-line shot was a retaliation to a belt-line jab from Kovalev followed by a terrible hard rabbit punch by Kovalev? That low jab / hard rabbit punch by Kovalev was by far a more egregious foul than any of Ward's light belt-line shots.

 

Bob Bennett, this utter clown didn't only say that Ward's last punch was legal and therefore Weeks' stoppage was "great", he also claimed that actually Kovalev should be blamed for fouls because of his "numerous" headlocks. But sure, EE boxers fight on equal grounds in America.

 

Bennett said bleaching your blood with IV was legal too on Showtime, now he's saying lowblows are legal.
So Bob question, are they legal for everyone or just American fighters? I'd like to see GGG, Beterbiev and Gassiev start KO'ing people with lowblows.

no, i went back and rewatched in slow motion very carefully, the last 3 shots ward threw were right on the white lettering of kovs trunks, all 3 were low. whether kov was playing it up or not, shouldnt really be an issue, he was stopped with illegal shots and help from the ref doing a poor job.

 

It feels like some of you are afraid to lose your troll badge when you get back to troll village every night so you just go out of your way to say **** that doesn't have to be said or isn't relevant.

Ward won so all of you, who picked him to win, were right. No one's going to take that away from you or him.
But, shouting "Kov quit", "Ward broke him mentally & physically ", "Kovalev got Krushed", "There were no low blows", "OK, few were low but that didn't affect anything", "Kovalev's trunks were as high as his arm pits" etc is idiotic, it does nothing good for you and it does nothing to legitimize another dirty win on Wards resume.

You've got pictures and videos of at least 4 low blows. One got Ward a warning, second was ignored by ref, third ignored again right before Wards huge right hand, AKA "punch that did it", and the last one got the fight stopped.
Arguably, the first and second of the last 3 punches were low as well. That's at least 4 illegal punches and potentially 2 more.
This alone taints the win, then you have that bull**** stoppage.

I get it, people who enjoy watching one person kick another's ass are not supposed to be intelligent, but some of you are so unable to see things for what they are it's just pathetic.

 

bowe used a blatant low blow to help put away coetzer. he fought dirty against everyone he ever got in the ring with, including golota. with a couple exceptions, bowe deserved an academy award against golota. he was looking for help, for a way out.

First hook lands above the belt. Second lands on the belt. Third lands low. Since the last one was low, there is a mitigating circumstance that is unfortunately attached to the win. But given the way Kovalev was reacting to getting hit to shots on the belt-line (and above), I'm not sure there was any way back for him regardless of whether the fight had been stopped at that point or not.
