    THIS! There is no denying it anymore either.

    And how about showing what kind of punches help set up that right hand that might I remind THEM... didn't finish the fight.. the allowed nut shots did. Their boy was being outboxed and then had to go low.

    Why dont we better talk about how kovalev faked lowblows like a scared girl in order to avoid being punished harder?

    The final punch was definitely low. But, the first of the three final made contact above the belt and began to double Kov over. The second was on the belt. But, since the last caused Kov to sit down on the ropes, I'd say the best course of action at that point was to warn Ward and give Kov the chance to take time to recover.

    I really wish that Ward would have changed levels and gone to the head with the final shot, because then there wouldn't have been any mitigating factor or asterisk attached to the outcome of the fight.

    What does that have to do with the right hand? Tell us about the right hand, break it down for us.

    Even more interesting: it was a counter right hand. Similar to the punch he tried when he was caught in round 2 of the first fight. What was the difference? Why did it work this time?

    For one, because Kovalev had nothing left. His speed and sharpness were gone. So Ward was free to try things he could not do earlier in the fight.

    All three? I've seen video of the final punch I believe, and this was low. But the first two I have not seen a clear angle on. Drew seems to think the first two were good.

    This is critical. Because the first two punches cause Kovalev to hunch over making the third very difficult to land to the body given the Kovalev's posture.

    The punch that actually 'finished' Kovalev was THIS one. Case Closed!

    That punch landed on the B...well below the belt line.

    No one's denying that the 3rd punch in the series was low. The problem is that camera angle only showed the last punch, not the two before that that appeared to be good.

    @shadow111

    I've never claimed the others were low or not. I agree. It's hard to tell given the angles.

    I have been pretty consistent. This last one matters because it's the one that ended the fight. That's my problem with it. It's clearly low. I have a problem with a fight ending on an illegal punch. That should never happen. The same applies for a lunch after the bell.

    The punch lands low and then Kovalev goes I to the ropes. Either rule it low and he gets 5 min. Or , rule it a KD and he has to best the count. Waving it off seems way out of bounds.

    Kovalev's posture still isn't an excuse for a low blow, a low blow which after it landed the referee immediately stopped the fight.
