But we didn't have that camera angle that we had for the last punch. It's hard to tell if those first 2 punches were low or not from the camera angles that were provided which were obstructed. The live camera angle you can't see because Kovalev's back is blocking of view of the punches, and the two alternate camera angles showing those first 2 punches, the first Weeks was blocking the view of the punches, and the 2nd was from an angle along the ropes which was also blocked by Kovalev's back. So we can't be sure where those first two punches landed because we don't have the view that we got of only the 3rd and final punch in that series.
The Letters weren't tattooed on his stomach above his beltline. The letters weren't stitched on the waist. The letters are stitched below the waist on his trunks. And Ward should've been hitting him ABOVE THE WAIST ... not punching him in the trunks. I can't think of any classic KO wins in boxing history that were scored with a punch to the pants. It was a foul. Clearly.
His trunks were pulled up over his navel. The force of the blow caused his trunks to move upward because it landed on the band which is not considered low. You got to take into consideration the shape of the glove and the arc of the punch. When you didn't see part of those letters, he hadn't even made full contact.
Is this the same guy that came out and said Rigo's KO was clearly before the bell sounded? What a joke. I know Ward did some good work, including a great shot that shook Kov. Some of his body shots were clearly good, some were borderline, but some were low, especially the final one. Kov is seen saying something upon the last nutshot, something you rarely see from a guy whose suffering from a (legal) body shot.
Well that's hardly proof of anything, as we can plainly see that Kovalev was complaining of numerous fouls being low throughout the bout that replay shows were in fact legal. (the one in the 2nd round, the one in the 7th, and the one with 1:45 left in the 8th) Kovalev was reacting as if he'd been hit low, but we can clearly see those punches are directly on the belt-line. So judging by the fact that Kovalev was acting as though many legal punches were low, so then we can't use him "saying something" upon the last supposed nutshot as somehow proof that it was low. There's so many inaccuracies to what you're saying. There wasn't "more than one" nutshot, there wasn't even any nutshots because clearly the last punch while low wasn't low enough to be on the nuts. I mean it's nuts to say that.
First one hits just above the belt line. Second one hits at belt line. Third one is low. Weeks said, and then reiterated, that the belt was legal target area during his instructions. So the first two were legal punches; and the last one wasn't.
Oh come on..almost every major American media outlet has reported the fight as being controversial and observed "low blows" It's not a fringe opinion and you can't change that.
We don't know how much of Ward's glove caught the lower belt on the second shot, though. Given that Weeks pointed at a spot midway on the belt and advised that to be a valid area to target, calling the second shot foul is iffy at best.
Tomy Weeks himself admitted he missed shots that were low blows. Plural. See his twitter if you dont believe me. The referee who ended it. The letters below his belt line go missing on the last shot, it's rather irrefutable. If you wanna argue what part of his groin it got the most of, you'll be arguing alone. The fact is the last shot (that actually ended it) was undoubtedly an illegal shot. Some (not all) of his other body shots were below borderline. Some were great, legal shots. His right to the face was the worst I've even seen Kov get tagged. He clearly felt all of that one. But facts are facts, that last shot (and others) were too low.
Lol you guys are ****ing stupid it's comical. Can't tell if you're trolling but keep up the entertainment.
Just? He already gave a much bigger middle finger to the sport when he didn't do anything after USADA gave a fake TUE to Mayweather after his illegal IV use (USADA can't give any TUE to athletes, it is the sole right of NSAC in Nevada)
