    Yeah.
Even if he said he was 80% or 90% sure at the moment, I'd have my doubts as to whether he could ever get the same belief and motivation again. Even at 100%, I'd say the psychological advantage and momentum is with AJ now.
I think Wlad will figure it out and retire.

I see his dilemma. He's going to have regrets if he retires.
But if he fights AJ again and loses he'll regret it more.

I've often said basically the same thing you did about Vitali's chin and mentality. If Wlad had those... he'd basically be the perfect HW. Probably would have been undefeated all through his career.

    That would have been unfair.

Mind you I think he has plenty mental toughness. He has always gotten up and tried to fight on.

His chin is simply physically not made from tank armour like his brother's is.

Too bad Wlad never produced any memorable winning performances because Joshua's mega stardom is going to eradicate Wlads bogus cheat filled title run clean out of people's memories.

The last thing Wlad needed for his legacy was a massive global super star to proceed him .. Too bad Wlad fangirls, too bad.. :risas3::meparto:

Not at all sure he'll make a farewell fight. He said its either AJ or no one just a few weeks ago.

I'm quite certain he'll retire. If he's 50/50 he has doubts and he's just finding it hard to finally pull the plug on his career. He's just delaying the inevitable, which is understandable, walking away from the sport you've dedicated yourself to for so long isn't an easy decision.

You can't train a chin to take punches. Can he prevent Josh from hitting him with another uppercut? If it all depended on getting hit with one uppercut-then that same punch will be coming at him from many unpredictable angles this time and very likely from both hands. So if he does take a rematch, I see him resuming his ultra cautious technique that he adopted after getting knocked out twice before and trying to win on points.

I don't disagree with the first part of your post.

When Wlad was starting out, he was full of youthful exuberance and it made him very vulnerable. But he was also very dangerous too.

It's not a given that Joshua would have beaten a more agressive version of Wlad, nor is it a given that he'd have taken a young version of Wlad out in just 5 rounds. We don't know. And my initial reply to you was to say: "not necessarily"

Regarding Sanders, we know what you wrote. Nobody is saying that Sanders was elite. The point is: At this stage, we simply have no idea how Joshua would have handled a guy like Sanders going at him hard from the opening bell. Although he wasn't great, he went hard at Wlad and Vitali, not caring about their power. He was ultra agressive. All I did was pose the question. Styles make fights, and Joshua hasn't dealt with anyone like that. But instead of agreeing, you got defensive, and basically brushed of the notion that he'd have been troubled by a southpaw, as you'd seen the Martin fight. Again: Martin didn't even want to be there. He immediately looked for a way out. Go and watch Sanders drive forward at Vitali. I'm not saying Joshua couldn't have beaten him. But they were 2 completely different threats.

Basically, you're extremely high on Joshua. You're very excited. That's cool. But despite having a great win against Wlad, it's still early days.

Wlad should call it a career, Joshua isn't an opponent you can beat with a 50/50 mindset. The only fight I'd like to see him come back for is Bong Squad, even at his age he'd destroy that fraud.

Nothing is a given, everything could have happened but you go by likeliness in hypothetical matchups and in my opinion it's more likely that a young, aggressive and inexperienced version of Wlad Klitschko would have been knocked out earlier but of course he could have knocked AJ out, i never said he couldn't.

The version of Wlad who would have had a better chance against AJ is the prime version of Wlad from 2006-2014
and not the young pre-prime version.

So what Holmes did doesn't matter since Tyson followed him and was a global star? Good to know.
