Ward defeating Kovalev 2x just destroyed your whole boxing narrative. Especially the 2nd time. Especially after kov threatened ward's career. Especially after kov displayed so much anger towards ward, ward should've been terrified. Especially after kov stuck his finger in ward's face. THAT was the narrative before the match. But there was a HUGE plot twist to that particular narrative. The feather-fisted Andre Ward STOPPED Krusher Kovalev. Just get over it and enjoy the sport we all are addicted to.

Yes, unified champions is great, you are right, but tbh I dont like a lot ward's style, even if I can appreciate how difficult it is to fight like that, and how clever he is in the ring. Now I feel like something more basic and honest, I prefer a "stevenson vs kovalev" after "kovalev vs ward" twice, kind of tired of wards style, I want to see something different.

I could "stop" anthony joshua right now if I winded up and punched him in the balls as hard as I can, I'm 170lbs.

The only thing Ward destroyed was his own legacy.

I agree with you on the fact that Kovalev is getting a raw deal from his management team. He trusted them to get him the right deals so that he could secure his future but they failed him. He did his part previously to the Ward fights but they only saw him as their meal ticket and not their investment. They are lazy and very irresponsible. I just hope he wakes up and changes his entire team.

Ward going for the final belt makes total sense... I'd have to admit that as a fan of Kovalev I'd love to see him get Stevenson in the ring before Ward did, that's a surefire way to a set up a 3rd and possibly final fight.

I don't think kovalev will fight again, he's a defeated man (not because of ward). He barely had anything to say after the fight, some shady things were going on in camp. If anything he needs to get rid of JDJ and all of those guys, maybe team up with abel sanchez.

Yeah... Sanchez would be an ideal trainer for Kovalev as well.

Sanchez asked Kovalev to leave because he said that Kovalev would not listen to him.

Wouldn't be a the first time a trainer and an estranged pupil reunited. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

He also said that Kovalev was untrainable. However I can see your point and indeed it's not. I actually hope that Kovalev goes back and submits to being trained and coached on how to deal with his emotions. That played a big part on why he fought the way he did. His problems were more mental than physical. Sanchez can also show him how to handle his earnings so that when he retires he has something to sustain himself and his family. He needs a real friend as well as a trainer. Duva and Co. are not the ones.
