Ward and Hunter have said they want to move to heavyweight and cruiser. There is no way they were serious about fighting Anthony Joshua. Will not happen. I don't even think Ward would beat Usyk who is far bigger then him, let alone AJ. But since Ward called out the cruisers how do you see this one going?
Nobody beats Usyk, exept in shape Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua by lucky punch. Everyone else loses IMO.
Usyk is too big. Ward isn't going to overcome 3 inches of height, 7 inches of reach, and 25+ pounds, especially as Usyk also has p4p-level skills.
Usyk struggles with the little men. And Ward is physically strong. But like you said, Usyk has the skills. Yet it´s likely that all the titles will be held up in the tournament. Ward will likely fight Bellew, if he is to move up in weight.
That's true. But I still think the gap from LHW to cruiser is huge, with that size difference Usyk's struggles against smaller fighters might not be all that relevant. And yes, Ward will fight Bellew if he moves up. I doubt it though, I think Ward will fight Badou Jack or Stevenson and then retire.
Who has he 'struggled' with that's small? Mchunu? Took a couple of rounds to figure out the very awkward fighter out, but he hardly STRUGGLED with him. Glowacki? That was his first time stepping in with a top 20 opponent, and against someone many ranked as the #1 CW in the world at the time if not top 3... Even then - he passed his first test which was a QUANTUM LEAP from the guys he had been fighting and passed with flying colors.. Despite being the same height as Ward Glowacki has a 4 inch reach advantage and is obviously bulkier.
Think about it. Jack is tied to PBC. Jay-Z and Big Al have some serious issues. Stevenson has a mandatory coming up. Kovalev just suffered two back to back defeats to Ward. Anyone honestly believes Ward will fight the likes of Beterbiev and Gvozdyk? There is no money there. This leaves Joe Smith Jr. (i believe Smith has enough to beat Barrera) At CW, it seems all the name fighters are tied up in the tournament, including Usyk. This leaves Ward with Bellew. A dominant victory over Bellew would also open some doors at HW.
It's known from his amateur days. And i guess you are putting to much emphasis on the word "struggle". Maybe i should have used a different word.(no need to get so aggressive there) Usyk has always performed better against bigger men, than men his own size or smaller.
Usyks skills are overblown, I don't see this CW Lomachenko that others do. He struggled against Hunter who's very average, I think Ward would do a number on him.
LOL based on what? Ward was being out jabbed and outboxed by Kovalev, Usyk is bigger, stronger and most importantly a better boxer than Ward. Ward gets eaten up and stopped in 8.
