    U wot.

You said why isn't he trying to find a fighter like Rocky? He is.

Bejeneru already fought 7 HWs, from 230lb to 260lb. He had his debut years ago. And he's no Marciano, but you can't call Turner a hypocrite for not trying to find a similarly sized fighter to fight HWs/SHWs.

This just ain't your thread fam...

Wonder who had the better chin. Don Cockell, Neal Welch, or Adolf Wiater?

    Or maybe Natie Brown?
Yeah, Natie Brown survived a Louis fight in 1935, easily goat chin.

Wait did Cockell even survive the Marciano bout?

What's this? He got stopped in the 9th? You don't say?

So Natie Brown survived longer against a Prime Louis than Cockell did against final fight Marciano. I've never heard Louis criticized for this. Yet people make threads showing Rocky landing 5 punches in a row, scrutinizing him for each blow not taking the guys head off. Or they'll point to how he stopped Cockell in 9 rounds in his last fight, as proof that he did not hit hard. Lol.

When it comes to Classic Forum, it sucks to be Rocky.

Jersey Joe Walcott, who lost his title to Marciano in a 13th round KO and a rematch in a 1st round KO, was asked who hit harder, Joe Louis or Rocky Marciano. "Joe could take you out with combinations...Marciano was a one-punch artist. He threw every punch like you throw a baseball, as hard as he could. I have to say, with all respect to Joe, Marciano hit harder."

Jack Dempsey, interviewed in the 1953 fall edition of Fight magazine said, "What everyone forgets is that Marciano can punch harder with a right hand than any modern-day heavyweight. In his first fight with Walcott, Rocky needed only one blow to win the title. The power in his right scrambled Jersey Joe's brains at Chicago."
"I've scored my share of knockouts along the way, but more often than not my opponents got up after being knocked down and had to be knocked down repeatedly. The same is true of Joe Louis. But Marciano needs only one solid smash and it's all over.
That's why I say Rocky Marciano is the hardest-hitting heavyweight champion I have seen."

Walcott fought Louis and Marciano, said Marciano hit harder.

Do you think Durelle hit harder than Rocky or Louis?

I'm telling you that Moore said both Sheppard and Durelle hit him harder than Marciano did, if you don t like it, I can't help you .

Louis stopped Brown in the rematch.Moore was Marciano's last fight. Have you read the next day reports of the C*ckell fight? No one is saying Rocky didn't hit hard, some are just questioning the opinion of Turner that he was the hardest hitter, why would he know any more than any of us?
You think the 20 years old ,17 fight Louis that went the distance with Brown was in his prime?

When did Dempsey ever get hit by Marciano (in before McVey)?

Peralta got stopped by 176lb Mina.
Yet 220lb crusher George Foreman couldn't stop him.

This line of reasoning doesn't survive the scrutiny when applied to his peers.

    That's fine.
Walcott said Rocky hit harder than Louis. And I don't think Durelle hit harder than Louis. It is what it is.

Given the age difference, hopefully never.
    Its Dempsey reasoning, not mine.
