Canelo was young and a bit untested. Rhodes was the best Europe had to offer and had already been tested at world level.

 

I guess Paul Smith in any of the title fights he's had and that's saying something considering he was taking up a washed AA fighting at a weight in which he had never looked good for two of them.

 

Really? Prefight, I don't remember anyone giving Rhodes a chance of winning and he was something like a 6-1 underdog at the bookies. The actual fight just confirmed that Alvarez was on a different level to Rhodes and at no time did Rhodes looked to have any chance of causing an upset. Rhodes himself admitted that Alvarez was just too good for him.

Crawford Ashley 18-4-1 went to the States and fought Michael Nunn 40-1 for the WBA Super Middleweight Title.

Ashley has some good names on his record, lost to most of them but he can always say he shared a ring with them.
