Do you doubt that Marciano hit the doughy Cockell with dozens and dozens of hard punches (legal and illegal) that fight, before Cockell eventually succumbed? When you watch clips of the fight, do you see Cockell surviving a similar amount of flush punches from big punchers like Tua or Morrison? Just curious.

What the heck are you talking about.
16 is old enough to be an amatuer deeply entrenched in the scene. Turner used to train with a really young Ali.

You think Tyson can't remember who was champion was at 15?? I think you forgot what 15 years old is like.

Mcvey, 16 years old is not 4 years old. You can have very vivid memories of superstar athletes when you are a sophomore in high school. You're acting like Turner was an embryo and couldn't have appreciated Marciano. You're smarter than that.

Yeah, I made a mistake saying Louis was in his prime at that time.

Also Turner said Kov should win, and if he doesn't, it's not his (Dons) fault. Do you seriously think making a wrong pick on a fight hurts a trainers credibility?

Can you provide the names of great trainers who never made a wrong pick?

You keep using little things that shouldn't make people look bad, and you try to use them to make them look bad.

How can you prove that you haven't been trolling the last 60k posts? Some things can't be proven, and it's silly to ask for proof about someone's honesty.

Turner is in Lomachenkos camp. He is currently around some of the best talent of the sport.

You keep dissing him as a drunk, or a barber, because his testimony doesn't fit your agenda. And it raises serious questions about your credibility because it shows you are willing to invent extremes when new information doesn't fit your theories. In my opinion at least.

Turner is entitled to his opinion ,and he may have been feeling a bit salty as his charge Kovalev had just bailed.
I'm constantly reminded what being 15 is like. I have 7 grandchildren, one of whom is 18 on Saturday!

Rocky hater #1 finds pro-Rocky trainer to be ridiculous.

Phew, who saw that one coming?

I don't have an agenda .I really don't give a flying f8ck what Turner said.
I haven't dissed him as a drunk I said he sounded like he might be drunk.I never referred to him as a barber ,[ if I had I fail to see how that could be construed as derogatory], I merely compared his hyperbole to that barbershop scene in the film in which Joe Louis and Marciano's abilities are comically and wildly exaggerated.
You must be wilfully misconstruing this because you ain't that dumb!
I couldn't give a good f*ck about your opinion of me lad.If you are in doubt about my philosophy on opinions of my character ,read my reply to Mendozy on the Jeffries thread.

Marciano didn't have the best showing against Cockell. And Don was fighting well, and looked durable that night.

I'd assume Tyson Louis, and even Rocky should take him out sooner, but you never know.

I'd never expect Natie Brown to go 10 with Louis.

The point is the argument is predicated on a double standard, which invalidates it imo.

Your problem, and I've told you this before ,is you take every comment that doesn't agree with yours as a personal affront and an attack on your heroes.
You diss Jack Dempsey frequently, apart from thinking you don't know WTF you are talking about, it rolls over me.

Lol when did I diss Jack Dempsey?
I probably used him getting KO'd in one to point out your stark double standard in criticism in fighters. It has nothing to do with dissing Dempsey, and everything to do with putting the most obvious clue right in front of your eyeballs.

You'll criticize fighter A for doing X. Yet fighter B C D and E will all have done X as well.

    This isn't about protecting heros.
    It's about accuracy.

Looking at ATG fighters in a negative light as the baseline is off the mark. Which is what many boxing fans do. So when people are egregious in their criticisms, yeah, someone needs to offer a more realistic perspective.

I have no personal stake in any of these boxers careers. But I do passionately care about the accuracy of the "lore" so to speak.

I think his credentials are solid.

I'm sure they are, I'm just not sure he has any more knowledge of Marciano than anyone here, why would he have?

He knew Goldman, and learned from him.
Which means he may have heard things that the general public has not.

Do you think we also know as much about Rocky as Stewart?
And if Turners opinion is invalidated, is Stewarts as well?
