So...I checked the rankings at 175 for the IBF

    IBF CHAMPION: WARD
    NO 1: VACANT
    NO:2 ARTUR BETERBIEV
    NO 3: SERGEY KOVALEV

Interesting. Beterbiev has a fight with the No. 5 ranked Enrico Koelling (never heard of this guy) on July 29. I'm sure Beterbiev will beat down this Koelling. After that, the IBF will call on Ward to fight his mandatory. I'm sure that Ward will simply vacate as he wouldn't take such a fight for peanuts. And the truth is if I was Ward I wouldnt fight Beterbiev either as Beterbiev is virtually unknown in the US. Andre isnt travelling to Canada to fight some wolverine looking dude for a million bucks.

So, with Ward vacating the IBF, it wouldnt surprise me if they ordered Beterbiev vs Kovalev to fight for the vacant title. Kov at this point has nothing to lose as he lost his titles but can fight again for one.

    Interesting stuff

1 being vacant means Ward gets to choose his next opponent. Dawson rematch.

It won't be vacant as Beterbiev is going to beat Koelling to take that position.

If Ward vacates (which he 99% will) you think there's a good chance they order Beterbiev vs Kov?

Yup. Kovalev is no.2 in WBA but ahead of him is Bivol and both Cleverly and Ward are the champs.
