There's an update from ESPN Desportes as of 11:48 June 22nd that Salido according to a source close to ESPN, is not fighting Loma because he doesn't want to fight on August 5th which was booked by Top Rank.

Salido is apparently in talks to fight Gervonta Davis in the undercard of Mayweather-McGregor. If true, it's incredibly frustrating.

Siri knows there'll be plenty of money splashing about in the Mayweather-McGregor event to help him get paid.

If he's looking to fight three weeks later he's obviously not hurt. When Salido says it's not money but a 'calendar issue' I wonder if he means two months isn't enough to get down in weight and be in boxing shape.

I fully expect Siri to continue to dick around and not grant Loma the rematch.

It's too satisfying for him to string Loma along, knowing he'll always be that thorn in his side. He knew damn well from the minute the first fight ended what would happen if he ever gave Loma a rematch, and he's not going to give him the satisfaction.

I don't blame Siri. The man is all about getting paid, he's already old as ****.

Fighting Davis on the biggest selling boxing card in history will give him an absurd amount of money and exposure.

Not actually sure about that. Salido turned down a $600k offer before and Lomachenko increased it, probably to $700k very minimum. He's not making that much against Gervonta.

But 21 days gives him that extra time to make weight, so he may prefer this option. Gervonta will GLOAT because he will say 'I beat the guy who beat Lomachenko, and you aksing me to fight Lomachenko?'

This fight was only really meant to shut casuals up anyway. It doesn't matter what state Salido is in, casuals don't realise this. None of us really need to see it. It would've been nice personally to shut the casuals up and for Loma to get some more experience with a stylistic threat but there's more fights to make.

IF indeed the Salido fight has fallen through and Loma is desperate to make an Aug 5th fight, Loma should see if Uchiyama is available. That's a good fight.

I want to see Loma against Rigo, Rigo looked sharp in his recent round. That fight is interesting for me again.
