I actually picked Kov in he first fight based on styles. In the rematch I kinda leaned toward Ward only because of the talking his fans were doing. They were so confident that Kov would hurt Ward, and now they can't accept the fact that Ward hurt Kov, roughed him up AND then stopped him.

 

The weird thing to me is that his fans on here are taking it worse than Kovalev. Kovalev seems to have moved on from this latest loss but it doesn't look like some of these guys will ever get over it.

 

So you are one of those fans who has no preference or support no one, until the fighter loses or wins, and try and goad the fans of the losing fighter. Not really a fan of boxing rather a troll, with no real passion for the sport. there are many on here ive got you down as one. Every one has increased fondness to a certain boxer based on attitude, style, grit, showmanship or even if there from your country or hometown, a completely neutral boxing 'fan' will always be the troll of the forum. They will disregard cheating tactics, or pay no mind, because all they care about is the goading of true boxing fans on esb. KRUSHER is beatable, and ward i believe would of came on strong, and justified a decision, the stoppage was bull****. KRUSHER beat ward in the 1st fight but bla bla bla he didnt get the W, BLABLABLA. Go finger your **** somewhere else.

He roughed up Kovalev because Ward is as tough as nails, Hes one of the toughest competitors in the history of sport. No denying that, however the stoppage was bollocks, quite literally!

if "bias" refers to an opinion skewed in favor of the person's favorite fighter, then i agree completely; that seems obvious to me because an opinion ("he should have won") without support means the person with the opinion is just asking us to trust him/her--but if they're biased, for whatever reason, we can't really do that because their opinion is contaminated by bias.

on the other hand, i see a big difference between that scenario and the one where the person provides good analysis to support their conclusion. In that case, i don't have to trust them, they've given me reasons (facts and logic that i can verify myself)

the reason i want to bring this up is that there are folks like Todd498 who, in various threads about Kov-Ward II, have provided some compelling analysis--eg, annotated video frames from the fight, quoting relevant portions of rules, etc.

i read way too many replies to a couple of his posts that just said, more or less, "well you're a Kov fanboy" quite a few instances.

and probably that's who he wanted to win (and my guess is that he made that clear elsewhere) but when Todd498's post consists of reasoning and data that others can verify, deconstruct, criticise, compare, etc., attempting to refute his post by calling him biased, is not an intelligent response in my opinion (i don't claim that you did that or that you ever would, i'm just referring to a common pattern).

 

I agree completely with that. What I meant is when people won't listen (or use) reason.
