I think he does a little better than he would against a young frazier. Maybe takes Joe in to the fifth before the frazier hooks do there job.

Wow agreed! Floyd didn't know where he was at when he got up from the first knock down and wandered to a corner and wasn't aware Ingemar was even near him!! It's astonishing Floyd wasn't killed with a professional fighter cold cocking a gut who isn't even looking! Goldstein should have been suspended

Regarding a Floyd-Joe s c r a p in 72? I agree he would have given Joe more trouble than a 69 bout, had he gotten the nod against Ellis. Losing both times but, IMO, not in the first round even in 69. But he had no desire in his final 70-72 comeback to fight anyone but Ali again. I've said this before but I'd like to say it again. He wasn't going to beat Ali in his final fight (Sept 72) but he showed his Championship meddle! One judge had it 3-3 going into the 7th and I think that's not really off base. Muhammad worked that damaged eye to end the proceedings, an eye that was badly damaged two years earlier in his initial comeback fight against Charlie "p r i c k" Green (with Clancy in Green's corner of all people). He butted Floyd and, a round later in a clinch, rubbed his head against it in an attempt to make it worse! I hate Green. Old fighter's wounds heal slower and Floyd's eye was never the same after that. My final $0.02? Without Floyd's eye problem he would have went the distance with Ali, lost a 'fairly' close decision which would have cemented his legacy even more!!!
In closing, it was nice to see a noticeably rusty Floyd, in the last round with Green, finally nailing that p r i c k with a left hook to the body that left him laying there gasping for air! Our boy Red!! God bless him!!

That's right jowcol, I remember watching that fight back in 1970,...and I couldn't get over how dirty "pr!ck" Green was.....and how glad I was when Floyd landed that big left to the body and ko'ed the creep in the final round! Green was an even bigger pain in the ass to Jose Torres, if you recall,....he had Chegui down twice in the first but Torres ko'ed him in the 2nd. It was Torres' last fight BTW.
