Lomachenko vs, Rigondeaux? Who wins? Thoughts?

I know what you mean about Rigo having the perfect style to fight guys coming in to fight and short-to-mid range but I think Loma's footwork is historically good. He's not easy to counter, even by a master like Rigo.

It wouldn't be an entertaining fight for anyone but the hardcore fans but, at this point, I think Loma is getting better, has the size advantage and will land enough for the judges to give him the decision. I can see him scoring a knock-down and the more significant shots while Rigo lands more overall.

I'd have given Rigo an even better chance if he was willing to move to 126 instead of demanding 124 because Loma has come on a lot even in his last 3 fights. I think it's his time.

The selling point for this could only be the opportunity to watch the two greatest amateurs ever face off (whether you agree with that or not) because, at this point, Rigo isn't bringing any casual viewers.

 

Loma is a special talent, no doubt but Rigo must be on the downside now.

I think Rigo can land a punch on anyone imo and I don't see how Loma will avoid it unless it's the case that Rigo has slowed down.

Right now I'd favour Loma, but 2 years ago, bring Loma down to 122 and I think Rigo does a job on him.

 

Loma would've been a corpse at 122 but I get what you're trying to say, P4P you think Rigo is better than Loma or that if they were the same size, you'd favour Rigo.

I just remember the guy who beat Rigondeaux had similarities to Loma - Aghasi Mammadov.

 

Not right now I wouldn't, but prime for prime a man with Rigo's accuracy and power can stop anyone on their tracks.

Losing a scrappy brawl with Salido isn't really an issue here, it's more to do with how talented Rigo is. I mean Donaire fought solely on athleticism during his prime p4p run and Rigo made him look slow as mollases.

Rigo still has the intelligence and speed to land on Loma; it just depends what damage they do and what he has to take in return.

The fight could only really have happened at 126 and I think catching Loma then was his best chance. If this happens at 130 and Rigo pulls it off though? Regardless of how boring people find him, it would be huge for his legacy and would land him another big fight. A loss, and he'll really struggle regardless of how he loses.

 

This would be the most extreme polar opposite fight of all time...

Loma is a very gorgeous man. Rigo is a very hideous looking creature.

Loma is all offense. Rigo is all defense.

 

Rigo is much much much much better than Loma. Just have to say it. A few years ago this would have been an easy Rigo victory. However given his age and size, this would now be a clear Loma victory. Too big, too much power. Rigo would be tricky for the first few rounds and eventually Loma would overpower him.

I also rate Loma p4p higher. Rigo is up there because of his Donaire victory, but he hasn't had much chance to demonstrate his skillset in a while. Loma has had more opportunities to slay dragons and will be taking on more feared competition in the near future.

 

With predictable comment like this, to be honest it doesn't surprise me you got booted lol.
With skills arguably comparable, Loma trumps Rigo in every other departments from size, power, activity, chin and even defence. Loma by decision or late stoppage.
