The problem with your evaluation is that the reason why Ward was able to get that crucial head shot in was because of previous low blows. So your ignoring the effects of those low blows which made Kov susceptible and then saying that Gennady would KO Kovalev based on that Ward head shot seems weird.
There's no argument. They were legal shots landed on the belt line. Krushers belt and body protector came up over his navel. https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/qFT...image/image/55316409/697115608.1497758719.jpg Kovalev got set up for the right after two body snatching blows to the mid sector.
I guess we have different views on how a boxing match should be won. Yours includes a blow to the gonads and a biased ref. Mine doesn't.
Weird how much more muscular Ward appeared for this fight and how much less afraid he was to get hit. Weird is how much stronger Ward's punches were and how his back was all splattered with pimples. Weird how Ward and the ref greeted each other when Ward entered the ring. Weird how the Ref ignored low blows and jumped in to stop the fight after a low blow. Weird how calm Kov appeared after all this happened. Weird how they let pro-Ward hecklers into the press room. Very weird fight!
The Ref said the shots on the belt-line are legal blows, anything below that is not legal . So stop your complaining, the man lost deal with it and move on. If one low-blow got in, at the end of the stoppage by accident becaus , Kovalevs head was down by his waist wich is illegal in boing and ward couldent see then, these things happen in boxing all the time. Kovalev should of told the Ref to look at the replay but he didn't , he just got up and stared at Ward like Ok you won this time you got me nice punch, with a nasty look on his face . Punches on the belt line are Legal -- THE REF -- Take it up with the Ref and not Ward This content is protected The right hand hurt Kolave and the body attack before the stoppage not the - Partial low-blow. Kovalev trying to hold on fore dear life and is gettin hammerd with great head and body shots not low blows. This content is protected Like the video up-loader says about the last punch . But things like this happen in boxing all the time when a Ref cant see a Punch going partially low. Although the punch eventually lands on the beltline (which is what I show in the screenshot), it does partially stray below the line first. Kovalev is bending over at this point, so the decreased accuracy of Ward's punch is understandable, and therefore I still stand behind my argument. However this will be a channel founded on truth, and the truth is that last blow was partially low.
All your arguments which attempt to justify the stoppage after a low blow are irrelevant to the stoppage immediately after that clear low blow. If indeed Ward had thought that his blow wasn't low and Genady was bent over from a legal punch, then Ward would have finished Kovalev with shots to the head. But obviously. and to his partial credit, Ward could only go so far in this travesty and his sense of decency stopped him from hitting KOv on the head after landing those low blows so he paused. In contrast, the ref would have allowed ward to finish Kovalev off after those low blows since he hesitated in intervening even after Ward paused and mercifully turned to him. So the ref was more murderously minded in this garbage than Ward himself. Had Ward had that same sadistic mentality and launched a full-scale attack on Kovalev's head as he was bent over, the ref would have calmly counted Kov out and raised Ward's hands as the victor. That is what the ref obviously wanted since he made absolutely no effort to protect Kov after Kov was bent over like that from a clear low blow. Instead he casually waited for Ward to finish him and when Ward refused to follow through, then he stepped in and called off the fight. Sorry but I just don't see how anyone with a fair sense of decency can say that what happened during that fight is right. Had Kov done it to Ward I would be saying the same thing. Dirt is dirt regardless of who does it.
You're in complete denial and it saddens me that you and others can't move on, Sergey was systematically taken apart even while I had him up on the cards. He just isn't versatile enough to deal with Ward even though he's a superb fighter. I curse the day Weeks was given this assignment, I firmly believe Ward would have absolutely mauled Sergey into submission. I noticed most the posters that selected Ward to win feel the stoppage was premature and I agree. I've also noticed some who leaned towards Kovalev have given Ward his due for taking some good hits from Kovalev just so he can land the more telling and impactful blows, sneaky explosive right hands and excellent body work. Then we have the conspiracy theorists who are in complete denial, it stinks but without our distinct differences and perspectives we would have this forum. I commend you and you're stubbornness.
