I remember hearing this over and over Now....crickets Loeffler did a heck of a job for GGG career Golovkin about to make 20 million LOLZ
Sorry, ESB's world-renowned experts on the art of boxing promotion have been a little busy lately. There is a clean up in Aisle 7.
There were so many on here saying Golovkin should have taken the apparent offer of $10 million flat, in fact they were basically saying not taking that offer was a "duck". Yeah those lot knew everything, they wouldn't listen to some very smart people on here telling them Golovkin could earn a lot more, depending how he plays it. Actually there was one or two saying Canelo should insist Golovkin only receive $5 million. Anyway they seem to have gone very quiet on the subject now. They have been exposed once again as knowing next to noting about negotiations or how boxing works behind the scenes, what fighters are worth, they just listen to Oscar spinning and spoon feeding them sound bites and they lap it up like good little fanboys.
Somebody pull Kovalev's collar and tell him to jump ship to K2. Apparently somebody has been getting the D on the money. Kovalev has faced far better comp and does not have the recognition or the money. Game is to be sold, not told. You don't see Tom all over the place dissing people, because Gennady is the star not him, but you see Kathy Duva all in the VIDEOS, all in the PRESSERS, talking, COME TO K2!!! I'm just looking at the latest p4p rankings, and to see who voted for whom. Teddy Atlas dosen't have GGG in his top 10 p4p, making that list about as useful MVC's predictions.
Atlas' voting is worth 10 points in their rigged system. He has Ward as his number 2, which is worth 9 points. If they get rid of Atlas and replace him with a GGG guy, and GGG was awarded 10points for finishing top and Ward was still in 2nd place. The real p4p list would have both fighters tied. Atlas has D Garcia on his list, at number 9. :/
no wonder ggg been contemplating retirement. 20 million might as well be 100 million to someone who isnt greedy and has never really had money. im sure hes just allowing himself to think about it and wont actually retire, though. i see why he looks so content now, he finally knows his families future is secure no matter how the rest plays out. good for him, hes been a fine ambassador for the sport, he deserves some of the spoils.
I hear you GK but this 'I told you so' thing usually dont work cuz they wont give a ish man. I spent I dont know how much time telling ISaL how dumb were Oscar's offers and how he raised them every two weeks but I dont expect IsaL to come and eat his crow, because he wont. I dont think they we're stupid themselves, they we're just hating on Golovkin. Chicano used to make a "GGG ducks the fight with Canelo" thread after each of those supposed offers from Golden Boy. But, honestly, who cares ? Some things will never change, and haters will be haters no matter what.
Loeffler seems to have done a good job, but you never know when money is involved. Golovkin is happy making some good money, he is not greedy.....................Golovkin will have to fight the referee, judges and boxing commission, Bob Bennett will lie like hell, damned crooks in Vegas. Hope Golovkin gets Saunders into a ring after that and then he can retire.......................but they will try to cheat him.................
Nice to see Loefler coming into prominence as a promoter most people in the game seem to have good things to say about him and that is rare with this business.
Yeah, Golovkin is going have a ton of obstacles in front of him to win this fight. Has the venue been announced yet? Las Vegas or Texas would be additional concerns for GGG. California or NEW York would be his best bet but Cucknelo would still get A side diva treatment and those states **** you with taxes.
I stand by what i said. Golovkin is not the hardcore legacy fighter he and his friends claim he is. First the flip flopping about moving up and down in weight, then insisting he unifies the belts but passes up saunders for a money fight with canelo. They allowed oscar to dictate to them how to run their career. From a business standpoint, it made perfect sense. But it was hypocritical and weak. They back peddled on the whole "anyone from 154-168 can get their ass whooped" and changed the tune to "were focusing on unifying". He was willing to go to 154 to fight a 40 year old mayweather but not 155 for canelo. Completely ignored the charlos, andrade, and of course lara who all called him out and had belts. Yet, he was willing to let a welterweight in brook (who had a mediocre resume) jump 2 classes for a money grab. This of course was AFTER criticizing canelo for fighting khan and saying brook was to small. And while all this happened were expected to believe the deal was signed overnight while vargas and eubank jr were dismissed. Willing to fight the flat footed mediocre chavez jr and a 40 year old RETIRED froch at the full 168. Demanded 164 for ward and a 50/50 split...then his team lied and said they never asked for a catchweight! It was any excuse to not make thw fight happen. Hes on the verge of passing b hops record and making history. If legacy was so important then yes he SHOULD have accepted the flat rate to get the fight over with. Hes clearly in it for the money or his actions would have shown otherwise. Nothing wrong with that, but i guarrantee you win or lose after canelo he wont have that fire anymore. He might go after saunders just for the sake of having the belts but after that he sails into the sunset fighting bums or retires using age as an excuse. No rematches for lemiux or jacobs, no charlo, no 168 division, no lara, nada. Maybe a rematch with canelo if the moneys good but hell find any reason to not fight a serious threat again.
