Are you saying Nat Fleisher, Mr. Boxing did not see all the films of Jeffries in his post teen years?.

Are you saying he unlike us, who had access to first-hand trinomials of those who saw should be factored out?

Do you think a bit differently now, KuRupt?

YOU claimed he was there, and I'm saying, show me proof he was there. IF he was, how much value does a 12 year old kid have to decipher what he watching. I'm question YOUR claims and the veracity of them Mendoza. What I'm saying is, Nat didn't view Jeffries in person much, if at all. I'm not talking about what he might have watched or not watched. We're talking about what he watched in person.

You would not be the first, and you will not be the last to question Mendoza's veracity!

I think he just said that Nat was around, not at he actual fights. Mendoza makes a good point that a guy like Nat would've been able to see films that haven't survived till today.

I'm saying Jeffries was a giant for his times, and the fact that you cant produce another muscular 220lbs fighter of his era proves it! It's nothing to do with him fighting smaller men per se.
You keep missing my point ! What did Dempsey weigh when he fought Johnson about the same! The names you
rattled off are meaningless because they do not take into any account where each individual fighter was in their career when they fought! You are being wilfully obtuse here and you know it!

    Interesting.
Do you know if a copy of that movie exists online?

Apparently Sharkey vs Jeffries 2, which existed until 1968 in some form.

Joshua had not beaten Wlad when the list was compiled and I should think they are only comparing undisputed champions. You produced ONE list that makes Jeffries number one I have 27 that don't I posted quite few.None of the current experts on that list I posted make Jeffries a top ten heavyweight champion yet 15 of them have Johnson in their top 5.What does that say?

I assume he's talking about footage not part of that segment.

    Doza, is this the movie?

I'm looking for the clip right now.
Movie seems pretty cool by the way.
I saw a girl form the early 1900's twerking.

Here is the round by round report with how many punches were landed and the conclusion that Corbett totally outclassed Jeffries!

    http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/l...bett&y=4&x=17&dateFilterType=yearRange&page=1 .

Corbett landed 404 punches to Jeffries 140.
The other conclusion the newspaper arrived at is that, had Corbett managed to last the distance the Referee Charley White would have declared Corbett the winner.

Corbett landed 3.50 times the number of punches landed by Jeffries. I've found several round by round scorecards over the years Corbett dominated the first 15 or so rounds then it was back and forth until the end. Corbett no doubt would have won a decision after 20 rounds and also after 25. He had a very decent lead in rounds.

Yes he did! Mendoza once came on here and solemnly said the Johnson v Jeffries fight was, "about level after 10 rounds!" .
