I'm an eye doctor. From my experience, people who recover from heroin/opiate addiction without having health problems at the the time of addiction generally return to normal health without longterm effects. Coke/crack and alcohol are more complicated.

Don King makes Mike Tyson look like a choir boy in that department, being a granny mugger pales in comparison to the crimes King committed.

Watch the first 5 rounds of Tyson vs Douglas and anybody who thinks Tyson could beat Ali needs psychiatric help

It's still a very imprecise science as you alluded to at the start. I'm not counting anything out personally. It's a combination of things. Thomas wasn't just into Heroin early on.

Tyson of the 2nd Holyfield fight gets stopped by Ali of Zaire. Ali was tougher than Mike.

    Buster Douglas > Henry cooper

Theres many on this section who need that psychiatric help....im not one of them . I also wouldnt suggest on one fight he almost won at his worst and to a better jabber than Ali and more pop in his punches and WITHOUT Rooney that Tyson loses to Ali....im not sure you actually follow this sport with a real sense of reality based on most of what you post. I dont really care either way as stated common sense suggests Tyson would almost always win this if not always.

A more interesting topic would have been Prime Tyson against Zaire Ali. That is a tough one.
Anyway, Prime Ali UD Prime Tyson in my opinion.

I seriously can't see Tyson have any chance of beating any in-shape version of Muhammad Ali from 1964 up to and including Manila 1975.
Even Ali of 1976 against Norton, I'm not Tyson would have the smarts and the stamina to do as well as Norton did.
Tyson beats a lot of good heavyweights but he'd have to catch Ali virtually at his worst to win that one.

Of course you don't. The majority of people don't, some uninformed and some genuine. I think Tyson and Ali both have the tools to beat the other. It's the best heavyweight bout of all time. There are some excellent posters on this forum who believe Tyson showed what it took to beat Ali. Remember Stonehands? Dude was brillaint in his assessing the outcome. He wrote me a detailed message almost 7 years ago and every once in a while we revisit that assessment.

Do you not respect him because he picked Tyson over Ali?

Him using the Douglas fight as an example shows his poor sense of reality. Only haters use the Douglas fight as proof that Ali beats Tyson. Tyson has an off night against a guy who fought his best. And Tyson still almost beat Douglas if the bell didn't sound immediately after the knockdown.

Now it's if the bell didn't sound after the knockdown, kinda goes hand in hand with other excuses like, Tyson weighing in at 500lb a day before the fight, shagging 25 lady boys one after the other, a 500 second count, no Wayne Rooney in the ring to fight Douglas........ hahahaha.
