I watched the ref allow Alexis Arguello to be beaten to an inch from death, but Kov gets stopped?

Arguello and Kovalev have similar styles. Both precise, accurate boxer-punchers. Yes Arguello is probably the better fighter p4p, but Kovalev is the real deal as well.

I can agree with your comparison. But you must agree that Kovalev's heart is lacking in comparison to Arguello's! Not even debatable!

The remains to be seen with how Kovalev continues his career.

How is his heart lacking, he got rocked by a straight right and Ward jumped on him when he was hurt, Kovalev was trying to get away and recover, like most fighters do until their head clears, but he was hit with several body shots and low blows. This bull**** narrative of Kovalev having no heart needs to be put an end to. Being hurt and trying to recover does not equate lack of heart.

I have to say that having a professional 175 pound boxer punch you six inches north of your ding would hurt like a MF'er. Especially multiple times when you are tired and trying to clear yourself.

    land
Ward could have propped Kovalev up on the ropes and teed off on him like Bellew did with Haye for the last 4 rounds, and I doubt Kovalev would have lost consciousness, the "devastating" shot that caused Kovalev to do a stutter step, which is perhaps the single hardest and best shot I've seen Ward on anyone in the course of his career, didn't even put him down.

You might be one of the shittiest poster in this forum's history.

In May/Maidana BOTH were fouling . Floyd's elbow smashes ducking below opponents waist & continual holding legated anything Maidana was doing
Je warned Ward ONCE fpr a low blow afer that he just waved him on
    it was blatant

It isn' a BS narritive! The tap on the waiste line were he bent over like he had been nailed in between the groan. What does that say about his heart? Why would a blood and guts warrior try to play like he got fouled and was injured? In the 8th when he was hit with a legit shot, then trys to play it off as if he got hit low. Again, what does that say about his heart?Bending over and turning away defenseless. In reality, Weeks could have stopped the fight at that point. Ward did land 2 low blows, but they did not change the outcome of the fight!

Kovalev probably now wishes that the shot did put him down, because then he might have had some time to recover from it. As it was, he basically circled/stumbled uncertainly from one side of the ring to the other, and didn't even have the presence of mind to keep his hands up from the time he got clocked to the point where he was taking those final three punches.

It might have been exhaustion or the fact that the punch really did daze him; either way, he was not reacting well at all in those moments. Maybe not the best time to stop it, but that was the most hurt that either fighter appeared to be at any point in their two fight series.

There were thirty seconds left in the round, and another four to be contest; and given the way Kovelev was reacting, I honestly do see it things ending well for him. Last thing anyone needs is another case where a softer punching but less exhausted figher does serious damage to the harder punching but competed wiped out opponent (D-Rod/Diaz).

Weeks had to do what he was told to do.............................by Roc Nation, SOB and others....................Vegas is criminal. Vlad was drugged in Vegas, read the Judd letter, perhaps I should post the letter here once again, it's been years since that last time..........but he tells about the FBI investigation into fight fixing in Vegas, the missing blood samples, missing urine samples, missing water bottle, video of a stranger in Vlad's dressing room, etc.

Kovalev is the one most responsible for the stoppage. He was leaning forward in a completely inept position because he was too hurt to use his instincts and get off the ropes. Ward could have hit him with some brutal shots to the head had he chosen to, but he looked to Weeks to see what was up.

Kov allowed that fight to be stopped by not fighting back when it was critical. He was completely spent because he outpaced himself, overestimated his stamina, and underestimated Ward.

The actual stoppage disregarding the foul wasn't bad. Kovalev was bowed over and not even attempting to defend himself anymore, the Arguello stoppage was good too as the ref stopped it the exact moment he wasn't intelligently defending himself anymore.

The real travesty of the event is Kovalev should've been given 5 minutes to recover from the coup de grace low blow, the fact Weeks ruled THAT as a KO is beyond ridiculous.
